Calum's P.O.V
I had no idea what happened with Ava tonight. When I picked her up from the train station, we were as cute as could be. She came back to my place & we had some fun sex & we caught up. But then she was worried about what to wear or how my friends would see her when she really had nothing to worry about.
I thought I had talked some sense into her but then the second we walked into my friend's apartment, she was so quiet.
Ava is definitely one of those people who is quiet until you get to know her - like she is that description to a T but she was super quiet tonight.
She was sitting on my lap the entire night since there weren't enough seats & even her body language was cold towards me. She wasn't drinking like she normally does & even if my friends were talking to her, she was timid.
I could see it clear as day. She was uncomfortable & something was wrong.
I knew our drinking games could get out of hand but I wasn't expecting them to go in the direction they did so soon.
Of course how many people I've slept with had to come up & so up went ten fingers...although it's actually more than that & I hate myself for it, but ten was good enough. I also couldn't hide this from Ava because she knew about my past, clearly, but now it was thrown in her face in front of everyone.
Then I had to show how many were one night stands, how many I've slept with on sofas, on tables, on parents beds & then the threesome - It was like two years ago with two girls who were friends & it wasn't even that amazing - but Ava had no idea about that one.
I was going to lie & not hold up any fingers but Samson & Johnny new about it so I knew that they'd force me to put them up & I didn't want to have to explain why I lied to Ava since she has spoken to me so many times about how she accepts my past & is just happy she's my here & now so I had to admit to the threesome & other acts.
I knew she wanted to go but it wasn't until she wouldn't say a word to me or hold my hand on the walk home that I was really worried it was more than simply feeling uncomfortable in the room.
"Ava." I said to her once I opened the apartment door. She unzipped her boots instantly & then she walked straight away from me. "Baby, hang on."
"I want to change, Cal." She snapped before she made her way into my bedroom.
I decided to give her a minute so I got us some water & I texted Luke to tell him we made it home safe, also for him to be safe, before I then went over.
"Ava?" I called out before I opened the door. "Heads up I'm coming in."
When I walked inside, she was now sitting on the floor in front of her clothing pile from earlier as she dug through her clothes.
"Ugh." She groaned, not looking up at me.
"What's up?"
"I didn't bring any shirts to sleep in."
"Why not?"
"I kind of thought I wouldn't be wearing a shirt by the time we went to bed or I'd wear yours so I didn't pack one."
"You can still wear one of mine." I said with a little laugh. I had no idea if she was mad at me or upset at the situation but I was trying to stay as calm as possible for her. "Take your pick." I opened a drawer for her. Usually, Ava would jump for a favorite shirt but not tonight.
"Just give me whatever is on top."
"You sure?"
"Yes, Cal. I'm sure."
