There is a woman I often see
Who appears to be trapped in her own body
She hides her opinions and beliefs
And allows her emotions to fall off like leafsIf you saw her too you'd never guess
Her smile is bright her hair is fresh
If you see her enough some days you'll find
The secretive woman who is trapped insideThere are rare moments I observed, only a few
I learned her personal things I never knew
A glimpse of the damsel who hides from all
She worries if she comes out like leaves she'll fallOne day I hope I see her for longer
As she gets older her chance of escape is stronger
Because how long can one hide behind an image of perfection
And live in fear of everyone else's rejectionBut the woman who hides is the prettiest of all
She's gracious, forgiving, the one I'd call
She doesn't know if she showed people would love her more
There's beauty in the brokenness and pain from her war
