One Month Later, Five Days Later

Tuesday Morning

I finish packing up my toiletries before setting them in my suitcase. Damn I'm really about to do this. I'm really leaving Houston. I have no clue for how long this will be, but I did make the decision to move to Atlanta. I am leasing a high rise condo on a short term basis. I am going to try six months at first. I think that will be a good start to get the business going. Shit me and Camden are already getting calls for contracts and we haven't even set up shop yet. It really is such a blessing. I am excited, but a little nervous. I've never left Houston, so this is honestly a huge step. I close up my suitcase and I hear my phone vibrating on my night stand. I grab it and my heart stills a bit when I see Jaiyana calling. Huh? I take a deep breath before I accept her call.

"Hello?," I said while placing my phone to my ear.

"Hey Cairo...uh how are you?," Jaiyana said.

"I'm straight. What's up?," I asked.

"....You're leaving today right. Your flight leaves in a few hours?" I scrunch my nose a bit because we haven't been talking like that. I'm sure Camden or Lina told her.

"Yeah....it leaves at 3pm, but I'm trying to get to the airport at 1."

"...Can I take you?," Jaiyana blurted out.

"What? You want to take me to the airport?"

"Yeah. Please. I just....I want to see you before you leave." My insides quivered at her saying that. Damn even after all these years she does that to me.

"....Ok. You can drive me to the airport. But you don't mind coming here to get me? You at work?"

"I'm leaving work now. Send me your address."

"....Are you sure about this Jai?"

"Yeah. And I know this is probably surprising since we haven't talked. But....I don't want to have any regrets like I did when I just left Houston without saying anything to you."

"Ok....I'll send you my address."

"Ok Cairo I'll see you soon. Bye."

"Bye." She hangs up and I look at the phone in disbelief. I was honestly trying not to see her before I left because I knew that shit would make it even harder on me. I send her my address and I sigh heavily. I really wish things were so different between us. I miss her every second, but she has moved on. She seems happy with that guy. As bad as I want to be a home wrecker, I just don't have it in me to do so. She does not deserve that. I make sure I have everything I need before bringing my two suitcases and duffle bag down to towards the door. I already will have the condo furnished when I get there, so I really am just taking my personal items. Clothes, shoes, jewelry shit like that. I can't believe I am really doing this, but maybe a change is just what I need. I make sure everything in my house is locked and secure. I had some extra security cameras installed and Camden said he would check on everything once a week. Once I check everything multiple times and check that I have everything, I sit down on the couch close to the door. By 11:45, I see Jaiyana text saying she is down the street. I look at my security cameras, and when I see her car at the gate, I open it from my phone. She drives up and the gate closes behind her. I take a deep breath once I hear a knock at the door. I stand up and walk towards the door. I look through the peephole and then pull the door open. My eyes travel over Jaiyana. Fuck she's so perfect. She has on a black fitted skirt, black heels, and a deep red blouse that is tucked into her skirt. Her natural hair is pulled into a slick ponytail, with a claw clip. She looks good as fuck.
