Five Weeks Later

Thursday Mid Morning

My eyes travel over the numerous grassy acres in front of me. This place is absolutely perfect. I'm thinking this could be the first purchase of land Cam and I make for our business. We are in Marietta, Georgia, looking over a 10 acre piece of land for sale. Camden has been here for a few days, just to check things out along with me.

"Man look at this...it's perfect," Cam said.

"It really is....once we get some of these trees down I can see at least three homes here. Spread out. Atlanta the city is quite busy, but out here it's a bit more quiet. I think families would love it out here," I said.

"Yeah for real....should I call the realtor to put in an offer?," Cam said. I look over at him and I smirk before nodding my head.

"Yeah bro let's do it," I said. Cam holds out his fist and we dap before Cam pulls out his phone and dials the realtor's number. The realtor we are working with is one of the top realtors in the Atlanta metro area, and says she will put in the offer for this piece of land immediately. Cam ends the call and we share another dap and then an embrace.

"Damn bro we really doing this shit!," Cam exclaimed.

"Yeah...it's really exciting," I said while smiling.

"....What's up? You don't seem that excited," Cam said.

"Nah I'm cool," I said while shrugging my shoulders.

"....What is it? You know you can talk to me come on bro," Cam said.

"....I fucking miss her," I blurted out.

"Jai?!," Cam said.

"Yeah man," I said while rubbing the top of my head. Cam's lips widen before he lets out a low laugh.

"Damn man....you miss her why don't you go get her?," Cam said while laughing a bit. I just sigh as I shake my head.

"Why do I have to go after her? I didn't do anything wrong," I said.

"...She came all the way here to Atlanta to try to get you and you turned her down bro."

"That's because she still doesn't believe me about Drea! And she hid....she hid our baby. I never even knew she was pregnant....and our baby is gone. That's what's really fucking with me Cam. I have always wanted to have a child with Jai everyone knows that....to know we could have that....just fuck man."

"...I know it's sad that happened."

"....I don't know if it was stress or what, but it wouldn't surprise me that the stress of that bullshit with me and Drea caused her to miscarry. But either way it's just messing with me. I keep having dreams about Jai pregnant. I wake up in tears every time," I said while shaking my head.

"Damn bro really?"

"Yeah ever since I have found out she had the miscarriage, I have had that dream. I hate it. Just because I never got to even acknowledge that baby."

"Damn I know that shit is heartbreaking honestly. I know how much you love Jai and you two talked about children shit the entire time you were together. But....what do you wanna do?"

"....I do not even know. I was so nasty and mean to her the last time I saw her."

"Yeah I definitely heard," Cam said while narrowing his eyes.

"I know I was rude. I don't talk to Jai like that at all. I felt bad as fuck afterwards because I know I said some hurtful shit. I said hurtful things because I was hurt and that wasn't right. I just can't understand why after years of us being friends and then in a relationship...she could not trust me. I never stepped out on her, never even entertained anyone other than her. So why could she never hear me out? That's the part that I cannot wrap my head around even to this day."
