Five Months Later

Friday Afternoon

"Jaiyana where are we going?," I asked.

"Hush you will see when we get there," Jaiyana said while smiling. I raise my eyebrows as I study her suspiciously.

"You're being real suspicious right now," I stated.

"It's a surprise! But you will love it! I know you will," Jaiyana said while giggling.

"Fine you know I trust you," I said. I rest my hand on Jaiyana's right thigh as she drives.

Within 35 minutes, Jaiyana pulls into a parking spot of a large multi level building. Jaiyana parks and kills the engine and looks at me and winks. She grabs her purse and phone and gets out of the car as I do the same. I slide my phone into my pocket as I close the door. Jaiyana hits the locks and I walk over to her. I grab Jaiyana's hand and we head inside of the building. Jaiyana leads me to an elevator and pushes the up button. We wait patiently and when the doors open, we both step on. I watch as Jaiyana presses the fourth floor. I kiss her cheek as the elevator ascends. Once the door opens we both step off. I look forward at the set of glass doors with the words Southwest WomanCare OBGYN. My heart stills as my eyes snap to Jaiyana's.

"Jai...baby...what...what are we doing here?," I asked.

"Just another follow up appointment that's all," Jaiyana said while smiling widely. I swallow hard as I nod my head. I grip her hand even tighter as we push the glass doors open and walk across the threshold of the office. I look around a bit and my heart flutters at the sight of a pregnant woman sitting in the waiting area reading a magazine. My eyes travel to her large stomach, in which she appears she could give birth any day now. Wow. I walk close by Jaiyana as she walks to the receptionist desk. She checks in and is given a clipboard of information to fill out. Jaiyana and I take a seat not too far from the receptionist desk and I rest my arm across Jai's shoulders as she fills out the information on the clipboard. I'm anxious, yet excited to see why we are here. I'm trying not to get too ahead of myself here. Once Jaiyana fills out the clipboard of information, she walks back to the receptionist desk and hands the clipboard to her. She then sits back next to me and looks at me and smiles.

"You ok?," Jaiyana said while smirking.

"I'm anxious as fuck," I whispered.

"No need to be anxious baby," Jaiyana said while winking. I stare at her curiously and she leans in and kisses my cheek and grabs my left hand and holds it tightly.

Within 10 minutes, Jaiyana's name is called by one of the nurses. We both stand up and the nurse smiles as she leads us to the set of examining rooms. She takes Jai's weight and then we are led into the third examining room on the left side of the hall.

"Ok Jaiyana, my name is Brittany and I will be performing your exam today. I just need to get your blood pressure is that ok?," Brittany asked.

"Yes," Jaiyana said. She slips off her light jacket and holds out her right arm. Brittany places the cuff around the top part of Jaiyana's arm and begins to inflate it as she places her stethoscope under the cuff. Brittany watches the gauge closely and smiles after a few moments and releases the air from the cuff.

"Perfect your blood pressure is 110 over 72. That's very good. Ok I am going to ask you to change into this robe and I will be back in a few moments ok?," Brittany said kindly. Jai nods her head and Brittany inputs a bit of information into the computer, before leaving the room, closing the door behind her.
