Cairo
Six Weeks Later
Saturday Evening
I'm looking over my appearance in the mirror as I take a deep breath. I grab a brush and brush it over my waves a few times. I then place a pair of diamond earrings in each ear. I look down at the dresser and I smile as my eyes land on the small square jewelry box. I pick it up and open it and smile at the sight inside. I close and place the box inside of my slacks pocket. I place on a bit of cologne and then place on a few rings. I hear footsteps approach into the room and I smile and turn around. My eyes travel over Jai, looking at beautiful as ever. She is wearing a fitted red maternity dress, with black heels. Her hair is in a high ponytail with curls, with two pieces pulled down in the front on each side.
"Hey baby....you ready for dinner?," Jai said.
"Yes baby I am all set....come here," I said. Jai smiles and moves towards me and my hands instantly gravitate towards her stomach. I rub it gently as my eyes travel over her face multiple times. Her makeup is perfect as usual. I run my right hand over the small piece of hair on her right side, and she smiles and rests her body against me. I smirk as I rub the sides of her stomach.
"You look so beautiful baby," I said.
"Thank you so much baby you look so handsome as usual," Jai said while rubbing my shoulders.
"Thank you baby. How are you feeling tonight?," I asked.
"I feel really good baby. The babies are moving like crazy, but I love that," Jai said while laughing. I smile as I roam my hands across her stomach, feeling small movements every now and then. Jai is 24 weeks pregnant now. The time is really going so fast.
"I love feeling them move," I said softly.
"I do too baby," Jai said. Jai leans in and pecks my lips twice.
"Ready to head out have everything?," I asked.
"Yes baby I'm ready. I love when you plan nights out for us," Jai said while smiling.
"Just wanted to take you out for a nice dinner. I know working and you know being pregnant it is taking a toll. I see it baby. I just want to remind you that you deserve to be spoiled and taken care of. I hope I am doing a good job of that. I know that we both have been busy getting the house ready for the babies and we don't always have a lot of time for us between work and everything. But baby I don't want you to feel like you are being neglected in any way. I know how much you would love to be traveling, but I respect you not wanting to do so while pregnat. And honestly Jai....it's been a bit hard to handle business here in Houston and Atlanta, but I am doing my best."
"Baby you are doing an amazing job! I don't want you to ever feel like I don't appreciate everything that you are doing. I am proud of the work you are doing to expand your business. I know this has always been your dream and it takes time and work and I accept that. I think you are doing just fine balancing everything. I appreciate how you have taken charge of everything and I know it can be a lot on you baby," Jai said kindly.
"It can be a lot but I want to do this for you and our family baby. I want to take care of you and our children. I don't want any of you to need or want for anything. I will get everything for you all and I mean that baby. You are my dream Jai and you know that."
"I love and appreciate everything you have done baby so thank you in case I do not tell you enough. You're the love of my life and I promise I do not take anything, even the smallest things, for granted. So thank you Cairo."
