Twenty Five

Cairo

"I cannot believe this is really happening," Jai said in a panic.

"Baby....look at me," I said calmly. Jai huffs heavily before looking my way.

"...This is really happening. You most likely are going to give birth to our two children today. And all the people that love you will be right here with you ok? I called everyone and they are on the way. I will help you get into your robe ok?," I said.

"Yeah....thank you baby," Jai said nervously.

"I know you're nervous baby," I said while setting her birth bag on the bed.

"I am so nervous!!," Jai exclaimed while rubbing her stomach. I snicker a bit as I move closer and rub her stomach as well.

"I'm right here I will not leave your side the entire time. I promise. You are so strong and I cannot wait to witness you give birth to our sons," I said.

"I know baby. I love you so much. I'm going to be an emotional mess just be aware."

"Trust me baby I know but it's ok because I will be too honestly."

I lean down and I kiss Jai's lips multiple times. I then help Jai to remove her clothes and get settled in her robe. I then help her put her hair into a high bun before getting her settled in the bed. I then set her items into the small closet in the room. Of course I got Jai the largest birthing room I could find in town. I wanted to make sure she was as comfortable as possible. I pull the covers over her lower half before rubbing the side of her face.

"How are you feeling baby?," I asked.

"Physically ok....I cannot believe today is the day," Jai said.

"It really is. I made sure to grab everything so we should be all set," I said while smiling.

"Thank you so much Cairo. I love you so much and I tell you this every single day but I am so so happy I get to experience this with you. I cannot even imagine doing this with anyone else," Jai said as tears filled her eyes.

"I know baby. I love you so much Jai. This was meant for us. Our two sons," I said while wiping the tears that fell down Jai's face. I lean down and kiss her face multiple times before kissing her lips. This is really happening. Me and Jai are about to meet our sons today and I could not be more excited.

I'm dressed in scrubs head to toe as I look at Jai anxiously. The time has come. It's time for Jai to push. I look around the room at her dad, my parents, Lina and Cam. All this love in this room. I am so happy our two sons will be surrounded by this much love.

"Ok Jaiyana you are fully dilated now and it is time to push," Jai's Doctor, Doctor Turner said. Jai blows out a deep breath and nods her head. Her labor has all happened really quickly in my opinion. We checked into the hospital around 10 this morning and it is now almost 4 p.m. Her contractions quickly became just minutes apart and here we are.

"You got this baby," I said in an encouraging tone. I am standing on her right side while her dad is standing on her left side. My parents and Lina and Cam are also gathered close for support. I look at Jai as she looks at me with worried eyes. I lean down and I plant soft kisses all over her face.

"Ok....I'm ready," Jai said.

"Ok push whenever you are ready," Doctor Turner said.

Jai nods her head and she grips my hand tightly as she begins to push with all of her strength. I watch as she closes her eyes tightly and bite her bottom lip. She pushes for about 10 seconds before she stops and opens her eyes as she takes a deep breath.
