The Mystical Ranges

As the final bells chimed at Ontarighton University, marking the end of classes and the start of club hours – Brooklyn Monica Wilson checked the note that she was strangely given in the cafeteria before continuing. She had been invited to Study Room 1A for some unknown reason. It was only her first day here, and already – she had been summoned to one of the rooms during club hours, despite not being in a club yet.

Walking through the hallways, she wandered past various students from both sides of the university. And even though they were complete opposites – Brooklyn was already used to the atmosphere that was being radiated throughout. After checking the note again, she continued on her way.

Approaching the door, she noted how it was different to the other classroom doors that she had come across – besides the double doors that led into Music Room 3. Where most had a brown wooden frame with a window on it – it was a solid grey colour with a sign indicating that it was Study Room 1A.

Looking around, Brooklyn made sure she wouldn't be jumped upon before knocking on the door rapidly. After that – she then decided to gently open the door...

Entering Study Room 1A, Brooklyn was shocked to find a trio of men gathered on a couch as if they had been waiting for her this whole time. The couch appeared to be fairly new with a coffee table set out in front of the men. It contained some standard items needed for a quest. As for the room – it appeared to be a cross between a library and a classroom. Much to the shock of Brooklyn, who wasn't expecting this at all.

The men appeared to be dressed as if they had come out of an adventurous RPG that Brooklyn might've heard about when she was in her teens. One of them appeared to be a young mage with brown eyes behind round glasses and short messy brown hair, while another looked to be a skilled swordsman in a neat dress shirt and vest that complimented his green eyes and similar hairstyle to the mage's and the third looked like the strategist of the team with blond hair, grey eyes and in a red vest that matched his white long-sleeve shirt.

Brooklyn greeted. "And who might you all be? I'm Brooklyn, and I was given a request by Aaron to come here for some reason after classes finished."

That was when the skilled swordsman went first. "Nice to meet you. I'm Jackson, and welcome – to the Traveller Club. These two are Marcus and Ashleigh." He then turned towards the blond strategist. "Ashleigh, would you like to explain our task?"

Ashleigh, the blond strategist, went on. "Martin was exploring the Mystical Ranges, having been asked to find any interesting discoveries during the morning. When the time he was meant to return had passed – Aaron got concerned and told us to investigate what might have happened. Hence why we've gathered here. And thank you, for joining us, Brooklyn."

Marcus concluded. "We think you could make a good leader, Brooklyn, just from how interested you look. But... are you willing to lead the way on this new journey of ours? We will consider allowing you to be a permanent member afterwards. What do you think?"

Brooklyn smiled. "I'm in and I accept your invitation."

That was when the team decided that it was finally time to head off on this new journey towards the Mystical Ranges.

Exiting the northern end of the university grounds, the team passed through a more 'open' section of the Northern Suburbs before coming to where the Elemental Mosaic Woodlands began.

The 'forest' appeared to tower over them and seemed to be very dense and there was a faint path leading through the area – as if it were somehow showing them where to go.

Ashleigh explained. "I have read that these Woodlands are managed by those that can use spells that can manipulate nature. Hence why I think..."

Ashleigh walked forth for a moment before noticing how there was a strange barrier right where two trees made an archway. He then turned around and looked at Jackson and Marcus with a smirk.
