Two months later, it was Zay's birthday, and his people came through heavy to celebrate. One of his boys, Rico, threw a big party at his mansion, and the place was packed. Zay wasn't just street smart—he had connections everywhere, from the block to the boardroom.
Gabby stepped into the party with Zay, feelin' outta place at first. The room was filled with luxury—designer fits, gold watches, and iced-out chains shinin' under the lights. But she stayed close to him, trustin' his energy to guide her through.
"You good, baby?" Zay asked, leanin' down so she could hear him over the music.
"Yeah, I'm straight," she said, flashin' him a small smile.
"Aight," he said, kissin' her temple. "Lemme introduce you to some people."
Meetin' the Fam
It wasn't long before Gabby was surrounded by Zay's crew. They were cool, crackin' jokes and talkin' business like it was second nature. But what really surprised her was when a woman walked up and threw her arms around Zay.
"Lil bro! Happy birthday!" she said, her voice full of warmth.
Zay grinned, huggin' her back. "Ayo, Gabby, this my sister, Tasha."
Gabby smiled, feelin' a little nervous. "Hey, Tasha. Nice to meet you."
Tasha gave her a quick once-over before noddin' with approval. "So you the one my brother been talkin' 'bout nonstop, huh?"
Gabby's cheeks flushed. "I guess so."
"Well, you must be special. Zay don't bring just anybody around the family," Tasha said, smilin' before givin' Zay a playful shove. "You treatin' her right, ain't you?"
"Always," Zay said confidently, his arm slidin' around Gabby's waist.
The Turn-Up
As the night went on, the party only got livelier. Rico had gone all out with a DJ, catered food, and an open bar. People were toastin' to Zay, sharin' stories about him grindin' his way up. Gabby loved seein' this side of him—the way his people respected and celebrated him.
At one point, Rico got on the mic. "Yo, everybody, I just wanna say, happy birthday to my guy, Zay! We all know this man don't just hold it down for himself, but for everybody around him. Much love, bro!"
The crowd cheered, and Zay raised his glass, smirkin' as he looked at Gabby.
The Private Moment
Later, after the party had started to wind down, Zay pulled Gabby aside to one of the quieter rooms. He leaned against the wall, watchin' her for a moment before speakin'.
"You good, Gabs? You been quiet."
Gabby shrugged, smilin' softly. "I'm just takin' it all in. You got a lotta people who really rock with you, Zay. It's... nice to see."
Zay stepped closer, tiltin' her chin up to meet his eyes. "You part of that now, Gabby. You my girl. I ain't never lettin' nobody treat you like you don't belong."
Her heart swelled at his words. "Thanks, Zay. For real."
He smirked, kissin' her gently. "Don't thank me. Just keep rockin' with me. That's all I need."
Gabby left the party feelin' even more connected to Zay. She'd met his people, seen the love they had for him, and for the first time in a long time, she felt like she was part of somethin' real.
