Suit up, soldiers.
Iris walks around, looking at the bodies, she stares down at the Commonwealth officer, laying on the floor with half his face missing, "Dixon! Wolf! They're looking for you on the roof." Iris looks over at her husband before walking with him up to the roof.
They find Lance talking to Gabriel and Aaron, "Guys, you see my problem here. This is not a good look. It puts all of us in a very tough spot." Lance says. "Problem or not, it's the truth." Gabriel says.
"So, let's just run through this one more time, make sure I got it straight. You went in. Things got tense. A firefight broke out. Then the people here killed every last one of our trained, armed, and armored soldiers, but not you two, the one-armed guy and the priest. Then the Killers escaped. You called me over the walkie. We drove up. And here we are. That's your story?" Lance questions.
Iris looks at Aaron, catching the look in his eyes, "That's basically it, yeah." the man says, "Yeah." Gabriel agrees, "What do you think about all this?" Lance asks, looking back at Daryl and Iris, "Well, we've been on the road a long time. They can definitely handle themselves." Daryl says.
"If that's what they say happened, that's what happened." Iris says, "Maybe. But I have another theory. Just hear me out. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a bunch of crazed, violent strangers to just keep the two of you alive." Lance says, walking closer to the two men.
"It also doesn't make sense for the two of you to lie to protect a bunch of crazed, violent strangers... Unless they weren't strangers." he finishes "Are you calling us liars?" Aaron asks, "Your guy lost control of the situation. We barely survived. We're not gonna take the fall for this." Gabriel says.
"Okay. Fair enough. I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers here. I've just got a job to do. At the end of the day, we all want the same thing, right?" Lance says, backing away from them, " Justice." he adds, "Of course." Aaron says.
"You two keep searching the area while the rest of us move out." Lances says to the other officers, "Copy that, sir." "To the Commonwealth?" Aaron asks, "Oh, no. There's monsters running loose. We need to smoke them out." Lance says, Iris looks back over at Aaron and Gabriel as the man turns away from them.
"We'll start with the hilltop, see if our friends heard anything. At the very least, they should know there's some very dangerous people who might be coming their way. Better suit up, soldiers." Lance says to Daryl and Iris before walking away.
.............
Iris adjusts her new uniform, braiding her hair and clipping her helmet to her belt, "ready?" Daryl asks, Iris turns to the man, walking closer, she looks around to see if anyone can hear.
"Whatever happens, I love you" Iris says, kissing Daryl on the cheek, "I love you" he replies watching her walk away. If something goes down between the commonwealth and her family, Iris is willing to die before letting them get hurt.
The group walk through the woods, Iris holds onto her gun as she looks around, Lance holds his hand up, stopping them from walking any further, Iris watches walkers crossing in front of them, "Why don't you two take care of this?" Lance questions, pointing to Aaron and Gabriel.
"Are you serious?" Daryl asks, from next to Iris, "We have to save our ammunition. I was told you can handle yourselves. Where's the problem?" Lance asks, Gabriel pulls out his machete, walking towards the walkers with Aaron.
Iris lets her gun hang by her hip, she pulls out her knife and follows behind them with Daryl, Iris starts driving her blade into the walkers heads, throwing them to the floor, after a few minutes all the walkers are dead.
