My name is Janellys, and this is my story. I was born and raised on the southside of Chicago, Illinois. It's not the best part of Chicago, but that's where I grew up. I didn't have it good as a child, neither as a teen in present day. My mother was shot and killed in a drive-by when I was 4. I was raised by my father, who has gang-banged, and dealt drugs his whole life since he was 13. He was arrested for being a so-called accomplice to my mothers murder. I have 5 older brothers of which I grew up with, which do the same. I was always the only female in the house since my mom past away. They all treated me like trash for a long time. Then one day I decided to prove myself to them. Show them who I really was and not who they tried to make me become. I learned how to box by the age of 12. I've gotten pulled in and out of so many schools because of fighting, no school wanted me. By the time I was 15, I had been raped and pregnant and dropped out of school. When I was around 4 months pregnant I had gotten my self into trouble and was in a fight by six girls I lost my baby. When I was 17 I decided on going back to school to get my life together. Everybody said I was stupid. I was stupid and was going to end up like my mom, dead. I had a point to prove. Now that I'm 19, I'm a senior in high school. I graduate in less than 3 months. My father is locked up and my brothers take care of me. I've never had a boyfriend , never really made friends. But there's this guy I really like but I don't know how he feels about me. All I know is, I am going to do what ever I have to do to get out of this neighborhood.
