Brooke swallowed down the lump in her throat as she stood up, casually wiping the tears from her face. Scott and Stiles look at each other and then back at their friends. The three of them looked at the not so locked door.
"That's not gonna hold." Brooke pointed. Her voice cracked in the middle but she tried to cover it up with a cough.
"You're right." Stiles stated as he opened the doors.
What a great idea, Brooke thought, leaving the door wide open for the alpha. Why don't we just roll out the red carpet for it. The moment Stiles ran down the steps to get to the bolt cutters at the bottom, Brooke's eyes widened and she felt her knees go weak. She nearly fell to the floor, Brooke couldn't want to lose Stiles too.
"Stiles!" She screeched making him look back at the top of the stairs where his friends stood in panic.
Scott and Brooke motioned to the alpha standing barely 8 feet away from slashing his buzz cut head clean off. Stiles snatched up the bolt cutters, but on his spastic way up the stairs Stiles tripped and fell. Brooke raced out and yanked his arm up without turning to look into those crimson eyes. Brooke dragged Stiles back into the school and Scott took the bolt cutters and slammed them between the doors to keep them shut.
"You are never doing that ever again, do you hear me?" Brooke told Stiles as they finished catching their breath. Brooke pulled out her inhaler from her pocket.
"Only if you never follow after me again." Stiles stated.
"Deal." Brooke stood up and looked at Scott. "Now, how do we get out of here without getting mauled to death by the alpha?"
"We could go through one of the windows and make a run for the Jeep." Stiles offered while the three of them began to walk through the dark, empty halls.
"Won't work, all of the windows are sealed shut due to climate control." Brooke stated.
"Well aren't you smart?" Stiles puffed.
"Besides, it'd cause too much attention and noise." Scott said and his friends nodded in agreement as they walked into a nearby classroom.
"How about we all run out in different directions? Then you know, whoever gets caught, you made a distraction. We'll remember you deeply." Stiles said with his usual amount of sarcasm making the other people in the room roll their eyes.
"Yeah, well that'd be you Stiles. I'm a werewolf, remember? And Brooke's. . . well she's Brooke." Scott stated with a smile.
"Deja vu." Brooke muttered while she shook her head. She took a seat on top of one of the desks and put her head in her hands as she tried to think of some way to get her friends out of this mess.
"Wait, Stiles. What happened to the Jeep?" Scott pointed to the vehicle through the window. Brooke looked up and the three of them got closer to the window to glance down at Stiles' baby blue Jeep.
"Yeah, the hood's smashed and I think the battery-" Brooke got cut off by the smash of the window. Someone pushed Brooke down, shielding her from the flying glass. When she looked up at her protector, she smiled with gratitude. "Thanks Scott."
"Anytime." He grinned. They both turn to see what nearly killed them and a very upset Stiles. He probably could've cried if he wanted to.
"Aweeee, bu- but that's my battery." Stiles whined as he stared down at his car battery. "Okay, we should probably run, that thing is a monster."
"Yeah but let me take a look first." Scott insisted as he walked out of the room first. When he gave the other two musketeers the 'coast is clear' signal the three of them crept through the hallways again.
