Chapter 16: Invitations.

Hey guys! It's been a while, sorry for the hold-up on the fic. I haven't had much motivation or ideas lately. I also had a lot of projects to take care of. But I felt like it wasn't too fair to make you guys wait for so long, so I finally started writing. I decided to make this chapter a bit longer to make up for not posting that much. I hope you guys like this. 

THAD's PoV

[We had just devised a plan to get J and V back to talking or at least try to find out why they have been acting so strange lately. In the preparations for this little 'party,' we planned on throwing, I was writing down the people we wanted to invite. It would've been suspicious if V and J were the only guests, so I wrote down a few of everyone's friends. It also would've been a nice opportunity to try and spend time with friends and such. While I did that, Lizzy and N were getting the decorations ready while Uzi was planning what types of alcohol to use. I wasn't necessarily happy with the idea of getting them drunk, but I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. I don't think Uzi would admit it, but I think she's kind of concerned for V, too.

After about ten minutes, I finished making the list of who we'd invite. I reviewed the list, mumbling a few names to myself. "..Miku.Varian..hm...Mitsuri.." Once I'd finished going over the list, I turned to N and Lizzy, who had just finished planning out the decorations and set-ups. "Lizzy, N! I need you guys' help with something!" I called out to them. Lizzy looked up from her phone, and N turned to me, "What is it?" Lizzy spoke in a slightly annoyed tone. "Could you guys help me with the invitations?" N nodded, his tail swaying in a slightly excited manner as he responded, "Yeah, sure!!" I smiled and nodded "Great, thanks," I replied. Lizzy then sighed and rolled her eyes a bit, "Can Uzi help a bit? She seems to be done with planning the alcohol thing, and I don't want her to be leeching around." I nod a response "Of course, this has to work with teamwork!" Uzi seemed to hear us and rolled her eyes "Ugh, fine. I'll do it.. Or whatever," she mumbled.

"Welp," I stood up and stretched my arms a bit "Guess we should all go invite our guests," I said as I looked at the others. N got up after me in a slightly excited manner "Yeah! I'm gonna go invite Varian first!" I chuckled a bit at his response, and then Lizzy spoke up without looking up from her phone, "I'm just gonna text them." I nodded "Alright!" Uzi then groaned a bit "I'll tell them later today, I still have a few things to do first." I smiled and nodded in response, "As long as you tell them, that's fine"

We all then started to do our respective tasks. N made invitation cards, and Lizzy texted them. Uzi was still planning how to set up her plan. Meanwhile, I decided who to invite first.]


**TIMESKIP; 2-3 hours**

J's PoV

[I sat quietly on a bench, I felt my mind getting clouded with guilt and regret about what I'd said to V a few nights ago. It felt like the world was falling apart for me, I already felt like that before this. But V was my only motivation to try and keep it together. Now that I don't have someone or something to motivate me... I feel lost... As I got trapped in my mind, I didn't hear or see the two drones walking over to me. I then got snapped out of my thoughts as I heard someone's voice. "Hey J!" I looked up to see it was N and Thad again, I turned back to stare at the ground. I nodded in acknowledgment. N then took a step forward; he handed me what seemed to be a part invitation. I read it quietly and looked up at them. "...A party..?" N smiled and replied, "Yup! We're holding a party tomorrow night!" I then looked back at the invitation for some time, trying to gather my thoughts.

About five minutes later, I looked up at them "Is V gonna be ther-" Thad and N suddenly cut me off with a nervous laugh "Haha! Anyway, we hope to see you there, J!!" My eyes narrowed ever-so-slightly at being cut off, and the tip of my tail twitched a bit more visibly in annoyance. I then sighed my response, "..fine, I'll be attending the party.." N and Thad smiled, I saw a hint of relief in Thad's eyes which made me feel a bit suspicious, but I just pushed those thoughts aside. 'You're overthinking things, J' I thought to myself.

After some time of Thad and N making casual conversation with me, they waved their goodbyes and left. Leaving me to think alone again. I wondered why they had been so nervous when I asked if V was going, but they were probably nervous about something else...right.?]


V's PoV

[I was taking a walk, quietly thinking about my last encounter with J. I felt so ashamed that I'd even thought that she'd meant to kiss me.. That girl only cared about the company, why would she even consider kissing someone like me? I was foolish for even falling for her. Anyway, I picked up a yellow flower and stared at it for some time. It was kind of pretty, I guess. I heard footsteps approaching me so I looked around to see who was approaching me. It was Lizzy and Uzi. Once they reached me I asked, "What do you want?" Lizzy rolled her eyes at me a bit and replied "Geez, no need to be so cold. We wanted to invite you to a part we're hosting tomorrow night." My eyebrows furrowed at her statement "What for?" I asked, Uzi then replied "Just because," she said in her usual annoyed and angsty tone. I sigh and respond "Alright... But, J's gonna be there, right?" I asked, Lizzy and Uzi looked at each other for a split second and Lizzy then replied in a slightly nervous tone, "Uhm.. Anyways, we hope to see you there, I guess. We have to go now" They said their goodbyes and left.

I stared in the direction they went for some time, immediately growing suspicious of them. I sighed and rolled my eyes a bit, and mumbled to myself "I guess I'll go.. It could help me distract myself for a bit.." My tail flickers a bit. I hope J is there- what am I saying? Just get over her! Don't grow soft for someone who doesn't feel the same way.]
