"Details! Details! Details!"

Jenny was bouncing up and down on my bed, begging me to tell her about my date with Jonathan.

"Oh, well, um... I took him for dinner and then we went to the movies."

"Did you kiss him?!"

I shook my head. "No, but we did hold hands."

Jenny gasped. "Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God!"

Waving my hands, I said, "Jenny, keep it down!"

"Sorry, I'm just so excited! My little Eric is growing up!"

Jenny threw herself at me and crushed me into a hug. But when we broke away, her face twisted. "By the way, what were you doing at a Ukrainian cafe?"

My eyes widened. "Huh?"

"Dan told me," she explained. "He said that he and Vanessa bumped into you there."

"H-he did?" I squeaked.

"Yeah."

So, Dan had spoken to Jenny about my date with Jonathan...

"Did he say anything else?" I tried to ask nonchalantly.

Jenny shrugged. "Not really. Well, he asked about Jonathan."

I raised an eyebrow. "He did?"

"Yeah and I said that he was Eric's 'homosexual lover!'"

I forced out a chuckle. "R-right."

"You didn't answer my question," Jenny said. "Why that cafe?"

Crap!

I needed to give Jenny a convincing explanation.

But what?!

"Um, well... I-I was thinking of places that are kind of cute and quirky and, um, I-I just remembered Smachno's."

"Did it work?" Jenny asked. "Or does Jonathan think you're some kooky Ukrainian now?"

I laughed. "No, I think it worked."

"Awesome! Here's to Ukraine, then!"

Jenny held up her hand. Giving her a high-five, I said, "Yeah – to Ukraine!"
