So, Dan was willing to kiss me... to make the bullshit stop. But if he did that, would it make him fall back in love with me? Or would it just remind him of all the complications we had... all of the stupid dramas...

I had to keep going. Dan giving me a single kiss wasn't enough. I needed him to truly want me again!

"Tonight?! Again?!"

"Sure, why not?"

Chuck's laughter poured out of my cellphone. "Hey, I'm struggling to keep up with you, kid! And you know I love to party!"

"Sorry! I guess I'm just making up for the last two years of being held in captivity."

"Right. Well, what did you have in mind?"

I cleared my throat. "Um, well... I-I wanna do something really wild tonight."

"Oh?"

"Like what?"

"Well, um... I've never done drugs before. A-and, um... I've never had sex either."

"Oh!"

"Yeah..."

"Not even with the eclair?"

I let out a nervous giggle. "No – not even with him."

"I see... Hmm, well, I'm down for it if you are?"

"Yeah – I am."

"Alright – well, I'll pick you up at seven, then!"

This had to be it! This had to go out with a bang! If this didn't work then nothing would... and I really didn't want to accept the idea of Dan moving on... that he really, truly didn't love me any more...

When Chuck's limo pulled up to the side walk, I couldn't help but laugh when I saw what he had got on.

"Are those devil horns?" I asked, pointing to his head.

"Yep – you're wearing them, too."

"I am?"

"Yep."

Chuck handed me a pair of horns and I giggled as I slotted them on top of my head.

"Ready to get your cherries popped?" he asked with a smirk.

I shrugged. "Sure, why not?"

"Alright, then – driver, let's go!"

We hadn't been to this nightclub before... if you could even call it that! Sure enough, the name of the club was actually called 'Cherries'. Hunky waiters wearing nothing but bow-ties and black aprons strutted around with trays of champagne flutes. Masked men in three-piece suits were sprawled out on the sofas, wagging their fingers, summoning people to join them. I didn't dare to leave Chuck's side. If I lost him in here, I was afraid that I'd get eaten alive and wouldn't be able to find a way out!

"Just relax..." he said, probably sensing my nervousness. "Everything will be fine."

"A-are you sure this is legal?"

He shrugged. "Sure... in most states..."

"A-and the others?"

"Hey, I thought you want to do something 'really wild' tonight?"

"I do!"

Just then, I snatched a champagne flute from one of the waiters and downed it in one big gulp.

"That's the spirit!" Chuck encouraged. "Come on – let's find a booth!"

I was watching Chuck make out with one of those creepy-looking masked men, feeling myself turn bright-red. As it went on, Chuck kept wagging his finger, trying to invite me over.
