It was school day and Destiny had already informed the Dean about her son's absence for the time being.

Despite Shawn reassuring her multiple of times, his mom didn't allow him to go to school, her command laid strict with a lace of affection as she ordered him to stay home and relax.

Aaron didn't argue since he was quite worried about Shawn as well. Something like that had happened to his own son got him scared, worried for future, and he also supported the anger that had been brewing in Destiny since the news unfolded.

Lila was sick at the hospital so they had to be present there but as soon as Kai had returned from the business trip, the pair came back and called Janette to bring Shawn home right away.

Destiny hadn't stopped fussing over him since, not even leaving him alone for more than a couple minutes till Aaron dragged her out saying Shawn needed some alone time to rest.

"I'll fucking kill that motherfucker." She sneered, her eyes dancing with a dangerous glow—the one Aaron's familiar with, and it always sent a shiver down the man's spine.

"I know, Ottie. I feel the same way. But we can't forget that he's a kid as well and we have to deal accordingly." He tried to soothe, but the fire in his wife's eyes didn't falter for even a second.

"Well, he's not studying further. That much's final."

Aaron released a breath.

He knew in matters like this, no matter what he said or did, nothing would ever make Destiny change her mind.

He had stopped trying a long ago. But this could ruin a boy's life and he didn't want Destiny to be responsible for it.

"Aaron," Destiny stopped him even before he could utter a word in protest, "Stop thinking about other's son's life when our own son's life was put in danger just for fun.

If Janette hadn't found him in time, do you have any idea what could've happened? He could've choked on his own vomit and die, or his body could collapse due to excessive fever! Do you even think about that?!"

Aaron flinched from her harsh tone and stepped back. Destiny spared him one hard glare then stomped out of their house, probably to let her steam off at somewhere, or someone.

As her words sank in, Aaron realized the depth and meaning behind them. She's right, he hadn't thought from that perspective.

How could he not realize the gravity of the situation from his own son's part? When did he become such careless father?

Guilt pricked at his heart and a single tear slipped down his cheek.

"I'm such a bad father." He muttered to himself.

"No, dada!" He jolted at the sudden intrusion and turned to see Odette running to him, hugging his waist. "You're the best father in the world!" She exclaimed.

The ache in his heart dulled at her adorable confession and he knelt to face her, pulling his princess in a tight hug.

"Thank you, love." He kissed the top of her head and smiled softly.

The consequences that'd follow wasn't foreign to anyone, everyone knew Destiny Ottile Archer would surely not spare the culprit of her son, and no one could stop her, but Janette wanted matters to be left on her own hands first. Before Destiny threw the trash out of their school, Janette wanted her own personal revenge.

So, before going to school, she picked up her phone and sent a text to Destiny, hoping this would be enough and clear off her path for the day.
