"What the fuck did you say?!"

"Geez, girl. You'll make me deaf."

"Tell me again!"

The red in her hair dimmed against the red on her neck and the tip of ears as Janette restrained herself from grabbing Su Yeon's collar and dare her to utter the rubbish again.

"Shawn asked Bree on a date and they're going to the Mason's." Su Yeon responded fearfully, crossing her arms in front of her to protect herself from Janette's wrath.

She was fuming, hands balled in tight fists, jaw clenched and she was breathing heavily. This was too much. She only allowed them being friends and now Shawn had dared to go on a date with someone else? How could he?!

Janette turned on her heels and rushed out of the school building, her senses stopped working and before she knew it, she was standing right before the Mason's.

She was moving completely on adrenaline, she didn't know what she was doing, all she knew was that she could not let Shawn date anyone. Let Shawn get close to someone else.

She'd be damned if she let this happen and lose the only best thing in her life to her absurd fears.

Janette knew she sounded atrocious, because she was the one pushing Shawn away time and time again despite knowing his feelings for her. And now she's stopping him from moving on too, but she wouldn't lose him. Never.

She just hoped that she wasn't too late and Shawn would have her back.

Storming inside the café and spotting Shawn wasn't a tough job. Her heart pounded upon watching them talk and laugh and the way they sat so close. Every fiber in her body burned and before her mind could retaliate, Janette stomped over to their table and grabbed her bestfriend's wrist.

"Wha-"

"Later." Her voice resonated deep and cold as she dragged Shawn out of the café, missing the way Bree had her lips upturned into a sly smirk.

The cloudes were grey and it was drizzling when they stepped outside of the café. Just like her soured mood, Janette thought bitterly.

"What's wrong with you?!" Shawn exclaimed, wiggling his hand away from Janette's death grip but to no avail. "Let me go! Why are you doing this?" He sounded frustrated.

Janette only stopped when they reached back at their college parking lot, near her car and the harsh flaps of wind only now slapping against their half soaked bodies. But it was nothing compared to the storm raging inside her ribcage.

"You can't date her!" She replied pathetically.

"And why is that?" Shawn frowned, shivering from the cold but no one took any step to move from their spots. "You pushed me away, Janette." He seethed and the full name made the girl's heart ache painfully.

"It's always been you for me," Shawn spoke so brokenly that Janette wanted to claw at her own brain for having pushed him away for so long. "I've always like- hell, I love you. But I unde-understand if I'm not it for you. You can't exploit your right over me and the- then just break my heart again and again. I-I can't bear it any longer." His voice cracked and no one could tell if it was only rain drops or tears on his face.

Janette swallowed hard, her eyes meeting Shawn's as she took steps forward till Shawn had to tilt his head up slightly to meet her gaze.

"I'm sorry, Damy." Her tone soft and gentle. "I'm so fucking sorry and I don't know how to express or confess or shit. But all I know is that I can't see you with anyone else! Someone who isn't me! I was so fucking stupid to want to savor a friendship that was long overcome that boundary! I'm so so stupid, baby."

Shawn's eyes widened and a choked sound escaped his throat, hope rising up his chest yet he kept his mouth shut. Not wanting to utter a noise and disrupt this dream.

A chuckle resonated and Janette cupped his face in her hands, blinking rapidly to get rid off the raindrops clinging onto her eyelashes.

"It's always been you for me too, dummy. Couldn't you tell? I can never love anyone like I love you."

There was it.

The words Shawn so desperately wanted to hear all his life, and now they felt surreal, like his ears were stuffed with cotton and he needed to hear her again and again till he could absorb them into his soul.

"I love you." Janette repeated, as if reading his mind. Like she always did. "I'm so sorry for wasting so much of our time, for hurting you, pushing you away. I was so stupidly scared, but not anymore. I'm not scared to love you anymore, baby. I promise. I'm ready to love you as long as you'll let me."

Her hands still held his cold face and their eyes stayed locked. Shawn could feel the hot tears rolling down his cheeks and the cracks of his heart finally healing, the broken pieces being weaved by Janette's assurances, promises and love.

"Y-you- re- I-" he was at a loss for words and could only sob in relief and delight, finally a smile breaking over his face. "Am I dreaming?" He sputtered.

Laughing heartily, Janette rested their foreheads together and wiped away the rapidly falling tear streams off his face, pecking the tip of his nose tenderly.

"No, baby. It is so damn real."

"Prove it." The boy demanded, hands shaking and heart threatning to leap out of his chest.

Well, how could Janette ever deny anything to her bestfriend?

With one last step closer, she closed the gap between their lips and kissed him deep and urgent. Shawn all but melted against her, a burst of butterflies swarmed his stomach as he felt the chapped lips being pressed to his own cold ones. Their lips slotted together perfectly and only a few messy moves later, they fell into a harmony.

Arms went around each other as the kiss deepened and Shawn found himself opening his mouth to let Janette's warm tongue wander in, tracing every crevice and corner with the hot tip and he couldn't help a lewd sound from leaving his throat.

Despite the cold nipping at their skin, their hearts were enveloped with warmth and a fuzzy feeling. And neither wanted this moment to ever stop.

After what felt like kissing for hours, they pulled away to breathe and Janette immediately noticed how violently the boy was shivering.

"Shit. Let's get inside the car." She quickly got them inside and turned the car heater on, fetching her extra hoodie from the backseat to drape it over the brunette's shoulders. "Are you okay? Fuck, I shouldn't have kept you in the rain for so long. You might catch a cold." She worried like always while blotting at his face and hands with a paper towel.

Shawn thought he might combust from the overwhelming emotions wrapping around his heart and squeezing it in their flow so hard.

A face splitting grin rested on his face and he didn't hesitate to crawl over the console and settle himself on the older's lap to smash their lips in another heated kiss.

Now that he knew the taste, he never wanted to stop.
