Chapter 10

Captured Chapter Ten

      Avaele paused for a moment, and then came out from behind the waterfall to find Christopher angrily skipping stones against the pool of water. When he saw her, he grabbed his new shirt and pulled it on, ignoring the pain in his arm. Avaele quietly took out the blue dress and slipped it on. She twirled around and admired it. She put on her shoes and put her other clothes in the bag.

      Christopher continued skipping stones, in deep thought. He figured that he couldn't be mad at her for being mad because he captured her. That wouldn't be fair. He sighed, and walked over to the crying Avaele. She looked up at him, and wiped her tears on her sleeve. Christopher pulled her up and asked," Did I make you cry?" Avaele looked away, and he knew that meant yes.

      "Avaele, I'm sorry." he said as he pulled her into his arms. Avaele hesitantly flung her arms around Christopher's neck and silently cried on his shoulder. "Even though it's not now, you will go home, i promise." he said, meaning what he said. She looked up at him as if to ask 'really?'. He nodded. Christopher bent down and kissed Avaele lightly on the cheek. She blushed, but stayed silent.

      "We should probably get moving." Christopher said. "Okay, where are we going today?" Avaele asked, trying to forget what just happened. "We are going through the village today." he replied. "Can we stop at the market?" Avaele asked, excitedly. "Uh, sure." he replied. Avaele squealed, while jumping up and down. "Whoa, calm down, or we won't go to the market." he said, chuckling.

     Avaele immediately stopped jumping, but there was a huge smile on her face. Christopher grabbed his bag, and offered Avaele his hand. She took it, and they walked towards the village.
