Captured Chapter Three
Avaele woke up feeling strange. She had a feeling that it was going to be a weird day. Or a bad one.
She got up and got dressed in her purple, silk dress and her diamond necklace. She tied her wide, purple ribbon with a fabric flower, and a peacock feather on it around her waist, and tied a bow in the back. She slipped on her purple ballet flats on and brushed her hair. She slipped out of her room. She ran through the corridors and hallways, and up the stairs to the huge, mahoganhy doors.
Avaele put her ear up to the door and heard nothing but a violin. She burst through the door and greeted Athena, the violin player, and then ran up to her mother and father, and flung her arms around them. "I missed you so much!" Avaele said. "We missed you too Avaele. The village is the same, the battles are mostly in the mountains." her mom said. Her dad smiled and said, " We got something for you."
He pulled out a flower and something wrapped in a soft fabric. " A flower! Oh, I miss Adelaide. How is she doing?" "She is fine. She misses you, and said that she finally got the cottage that she wanted. Her flower and fabric sales are going very well." her dad said. "Thank you!" Avaele exclaimed as she took the presents and ran back to her room.
She put the flower in a tall, crystal vase, and sat on her bed. She stared at the present wrapped in fabric, and wondered what it was. She pulled the yarn to undo the bow, and pulled it off. She slowly unwrapped the present and smiled. There was a peice of bread from Miss Kerrin's bakery, and two small things that were wrapped in cloth. she picked one up and unwrapped it. She gasped. It was a blue, crytal butterfly on a little glass platform with rubies around it.
A tear slowly ran down her cheek, and she smiled while she wiped it away. It was exactly that she broke when she was seven. She had cried for hours when she broke it and got sick. Reina came in with some soup and noodles. She stayed a little too long and got sick too. They both sat in bed and slurped up soup.
Avaele laughed at the memory and put the butterfly on her marble pillar, shutting the small glass door to the case on top of it. She went back to her bed and closed her eyes. Then she remembered her other present.
