the whole rest of the night felt like a fucking blur.

when we finished the last song, we all walked off stage pleasantly satisfied with how the show went. everyone was sweaty and out of breath.

"you fucking killed it, y/n! everyone's gonna love you." alex, sweat dripping down his forehead, was patting my back.

"he's right, you fit right in." vinnie smiled. "we hitting up sam's?"

alex nodded. "yup!"

jodi looked at them and furrowed her brows. "are they gonna let her in?" she gestured towards me.

the fuck is sam's? some underground fight club?

vinnie looked at alex a little nervously. alex thought for minute and shrugged. "they know us, they know she just was on stage with us, they don't need to know she's not 21."

my eyes widened. "woah, wait, slow wayyy down. where am i supposed to be going?"

vinnie looked over at me. "after big shows we usually go to this place underneath this bar where everyone just dances and fucks around all night. there's music and stuff, it's pretty cool."

"no way they are letting me in a bar." i sighed.

"not with that attitude! just act like you've been there a million times before and everything will be fine. and besides, if they kick you out they are kicking all of us out." alex said cheerily.

i thought for a moment. this is an upgrade compared to that stupid halloween party, so might as well.

"alright. where is this place?"

"that's the spirit." alex smiled and patted my back. "c'mon, i'll tell you about it on the way there."

the 4 of us exited the venue from the back door i came through, greeting the same security guard as we left. i realized something as we walked out.

"shit, wait, i need to see my mom. i asked her to come tonight."

"that's alright, we'll be right here. go find her." jodi said.

i nodded and went by the entrance of the venue. i looked for her face through the crowd of people coming out. i was completely caught off guard when some random bleached blonde girl came up to me with her friends.

"oh my god, you were in the show right? you were fucking amazing, we literally love you." she looked at me excitedly with her friends doing the same.

"oh! thank you so much, hope you enjoyed the show." this was usually my automated message to people who said this to me after my gigs in new york.

her friend, also with bleached hair, said something as well. "are we gonna be seeing you at sam's???"

jesus, does everyone know about this fucking place? "aha... yeah."

"yayyy! see you there girl!" she took off with her friends giggling down the street. at least they were nice.

i felt a tap on my shoulder. i turned around, expecting to see my mom.

instead, it was a guy and a girl. the girl, who had split dye hair, had a digital camera in her hand. "hii, you're tidal wave's new guitarist right?"

i nodded and smiled. "oh aha, yeah."

"you looked so cool up there, it's about time they had more girls besides jodi, y'know?"

damn. this girl must be a huge fan of them. "out with old and and in with the new, i guess." i giggled.
