we were finally done with the show.

we finished the last song, cherry waves, on a strong note, with a standing ovation from almost everyone in the bar.

it was pretty surreal. i remember watching them practice cherry waves with reid, but being the one on stage doing it was even better. when we walked off stage and went back to the room, everyone was extremely happy.

"nice fucking job kid!" he put his hands on my shoulders and squeezed them softly. "you killed it. everyone out there loves you."

i laughed. "i don't know about love, but i guess i did pretty decent." i said sarcastically.

vinnie was looking out the door. "you hear them? they're going insane." he smirked.

"you should go say hi, y/n." jodi said.

"you think?" the idea of it made me a little nervous. but then i remembered luke was out there. "oh wait, i did invite my friend here. i'll go say hi."

alex began to stand up. "we'll meet ya out there."

the 3 of them left to go party with everyone and i quickly touched up my makeup. i also took a cigarette from jodi's purse and lit it.

as i made my way out, i made my way through the audience slowly by surely. it was so weird, having so many people say hi and know your name. when i spotted luke, we made eye contact and he waved for me to come over.

i smiled at him and his friends. "you guys like the show?"

one of the girls interrupted luke from whatever he was going to say. "how the fuck did luke get invited by you?? you are the fucking coolest, i like, love you!!!" she was obviously really drunk.

i smiled at her. "ha, thank you."

luke rolled his eyes. "i knew you said you were in a band. didn't know you were such a star."

i scoffed. "this is my first time playing with them."

a guy standing near luke spoke up. "tidal wave is super popular where we live. luke's told you about kingswood, right?"

"not much. i just know you are in the next town over."

another girl added on. "yeahhh, tidal wave is like our little hidden gem. but they've been performing in a lot more places recently."

luke nodded. "you were really good up there y/n."

i smiled. "thank you. i'm glad you could come."

"are your friends here? ashley and them?"

"um.." i stopped for a moment. "no, not tonight."

he nodded again. "damn. sucks they couldn't make it, that was a sight to see."

i stomped out my cigarette on the ground and smirked. "well, i gotta go. see you around, luke."

"bye y/n."

i made my way back to the middle of the floor, where many people were dancing to the music blasting from a speaker. i walked by the bar, and the bartender suddenly gasped.
