when i woke up, i was in a quieter, darker, and unfamiliar area.

"what the.."

when i took in my surroundings, i realized i was in a bed. i slowly remembered the past couple of hours and sighed to myself in embarrassment. god, did i really fall asleep at sal's house? what the fuck was i thinking?

though this was presumably his room, sal was nowhere to be seen. it was dimly lit by a candle on his bedside table, and i could faintly make out band posters and various wall decorations.

suddenly, the door swung open.

sal walked in with 2 apple juice boxes in hand. we met eyes and he smiled softly. "oh, you're awake."

my face immediately warmed up when i saw him. it had just hit me that he probably had to carry me in here from the couch. "i'm so sorry, i didn't mean to fall asleep."

sal shook his head in surprise. "no, no, it wasn't a problem, don't worry." he chuckled. "it was cute. you were out cold for a good hour."

"shut up." i scoffed. "did you carry me in here? you coulda' just left me on the couch and not put yourself through the trouble."

he shrugged. "wasn't a problem to me." he set one of the juice boxes down on his nightstand and sat at the edge of the bed beside me. "want one? i brought it for when you woke up."

"yeah, thanks." i took the box and poked a hole with the straw at the top. "i'm actually so thirsty."

"heh, i remembered you saying you liked apple juice."

my brows furrowed as i took a sip. "when did i say that?"

"um.. like a week ago i think."

"huh." i remembered saying it to ash when we all hung out once. guess he heard. "i should go soon. my mom's probably texting me too." i began to pull away the covers of the bed and stand up.

sal stood up as well. "right. you should rest up for tomorrow too."

i smiled brightly at him when he reminded me. "halloween!"

"hell yeah."

"are you, larry, and todd gonna meet us in the parking lot tomorrow? when it's time?"

"is ash coming here or picking us up?"

"she's getting ready with me, duh."

sal chuckled. "right."

he walked me to his front door and opened it, letting me out first. he followed and shut the door behind us.

i cocked my head. "you don't have to walk me back ya' know." we had already began walking down the hall towards the elevator.

"i know! i want to, though. wouldn't want you to get murdered on the way back."

i laughed. "yeah right. i live one floor below you, i think the chances are pretty slim."

once we made it to the elevator and down to the 3rd floor, i yawned as we walked towards my apartment.

"tired?"

"yeah. im exhausted, my mom's been on my ass recently for taking the car out so much and it's just been so-"

i was interrupted by sal's laughter. "um, you were saying?" he was stopped in front of my apartment that i had unknowingly walked by.

"oh shit. oops." i walked in shame back to him. i sighed and unlocked the door. "thanks for the food by the way. see you tomorrow?"
