Tim's POV
Lucy had come home from the hospital three days ago and she hadn't said a word yet.
I knew she was meant to give a statement to Angela about what happened while she was kidnapped in two days, but given how little she had said, I doubted she was going to talk then either.
I went through the motions like usual, going into the guest room to wake Lucy with breakfast before helping her get into her temporary wheelchair and calling Tamara to help me pick an outfit for Lucy and then help her change.
Tamara had also moved in with me since Lucy's kidnapping both to help take care of her and to ensure Lucy was with sat least one person at all times.
The new security system had come yesterday and I was setting it up this morning while Lucy showered.
Two officers were stationed outside our house at all times and Aaron had asked his parents to pay for Lucy to have a bodyguard for the foreseeable future.
Rosalind and Emmet were still no where to be found but given the news of Lucy's survival would reach them in the next few days, everyone expected they would be back at some point.
Lucy's POV
Everything was numb.
I had miscarried my baby.
I-i was going to be a mother again...
And now I wasn't.
I mostly stayed in my bed those first few days.
I got up, changed, showered, ate a bit, but then went back to my room to sleep.
I had nightmares about the torture every night, although that was expected. But the miscarriage was all I thought of while I was awake so even sleep seemed like a good option. At least when I was being tortured no one else was getting hurt.
I felt along the ridges of my burns.
Emmet had engraved an E into my side just below by DOD tattoo using the fire poker.
It still hurt, but no where near as much as it did at the time. My face was still swollen and bruised beyond most recognition from the beatings and my feet were barely able to be saved from the amount of damage to the bones. Luckily though the doctor managed to reconstruct the bones so I didn't need any amputations.
It had only been three days since leaving the hospital and I already felt like I was loosing it. Tim and Tamara has been helping me do everything. I was just a burden to all of them. They had Juniper to take care of, I hadn't even been able to hold my daughter with the casts and bandages on practically every part of my body.
The first time Juniper saw my face she cried.
She was scared of me.
It broke me.
My own daughter thought I was a monster.
Someone to be afraid of.
She just turned and ran back into Tim's arms.
And then there was Tim.
He had been waiting on my hand and foot for days. Doing anything I wanted done and helping me with everything.
I hated that he didn't blame me.
It would have made everything easier if he just blamed me for being so stupid.
I was the one who wanted to go after Emmet and Rosalind.
It was all my fault.
I still hadn't told him about the miscarriage.
I wasn't going to.
It was my burden to bare that I had killed his child.
Tim's POV
Lucy had been out the hospital a week and she just seemed to be getting more reserved.
"Tam?"
Tamara looked over at me,
"Yeah Tim?"
"I think I'm going to send Lucy to therapy."
Tamara nodded like it was obvious.
"You haven't done that already? She was kidnapped, buried alive, tortured! She definitely needs therapy! Why haven't you sent her already?!"
I couldn't argue with that.
Lucy clearly wasn't doing well and I was only now sending her to therapy.
I knocked on Lucy's door hesitantly, knowing she would probably get mad at me and if she talked at all, say 'im fine Tim' or 'I can handle it's because that was just the type of person she was.
"Luce?"
I opened the door to see Lucy huddled in the bed, crying silently with red puffy eyes.
I went over to her bedside so Lucy was facing me more before starting to speak.
"Um Luce, I've signed you up to go to therapy. It starts next week three times a week for one hours sessions to begin with."
Lucy didn't even react and if it weren't for her eyes flirting around the room and her occasional reaching over to the nightstand to get another tissue, I would have assumed she was asleep.
"Is that ok Luce?"
Still no response.
"Can you nod just so I know you have heard what I'm saying?" My voice was almost a whisper, just hoping Lucy would so something to even acknowledge that I had been here.
A small soft nod.
I leant over and gave her a small kiss on the least bruised part of her forehead before exiting the room and pulling the door closed to do a thorough background check on the therapist Lucy was going to have.
After Tamara and I spent a few hours combing through the therapist and all known associates, finding nothing wrong, we started cooking dinner.
"Pasta ok Tam?"
"Yeah great thanks, I'll go wake up Juniper."
Juniper was honestly the best toddler in the world. She would sleep, eat, play, rarely ever cried. Sometimes I felt like she was just another adult in the house despite the fact she was not even two yet.
Lucy's POV
Therapy was a bed idea.
A very bad idea.
I would just lie my way through it again.
I wasn't sure why exactly everyone thought I needed to go talk to someone about my emotions. I had been 'raised' by two therapists and practically spent my entire childhood talking about my feelings in between beatings. I was a phycology major for god's sake. I know everything about how I'm feeling!
That I'm a stupid burden who killed my child.
I couldn't even walk myself to the bathroom to grab a razor blade.
God I was so useless.
Tim walked into my room again, carrying a plate of pasta.
"Hey Luce, we made carbonara. Do you want to eat here or at the table?"
I made no indication that I had even heard Tim.
Talking made everything real.
Saying even one word would show my that this wasn't all one eerily realistic nightmare.
Talking made this all real and that was scary.
"Um how about if you want to eat here, just move your arm, and if you want to eat at the table, move your head"
I stayed perfectly still. Not moving a muscle as Tim assessed if I was moving at all.
"Are you not hungry?"
I slowly rolled over to face where Tim stood with his bowl of homemade carbonara.
It looked and smelled delicious but I just couldn't bring myself to eat it.
I wasn't sure exactly why I didn't want it, I was perfectly capable of eating it, even if Tim would have to feed me given the state of the casts around my amrs, hands and practically entire body.
"Um, do you want it later?"
I just looked ahead, thinking about everything and nothing.
Tim put down the bowl on the nightstand along with a button before giving me forehead another kiss.
"The button will make my phone beep for whenever you need me."
I nodded slightly before Tim left the room.
