A/N the song doesn't really have context, I was just listening to it while writing this chapter.
Please do comment if you want to go include the songs I'm listening to in the chapters or not, I know sometimes I find it annoying. Also yes I am a swiftie so lots of the songs will be Taylor Swift.
Lucy's POV
Therapy was just as boring and useless as it was when I was a child. The endless unanswered questions. The silence as I refused to say a word about anything.
Most of the time I just sat in the seat, huddling myself together and staring into space. I had gone for three sessions in the last week, just as Tim had said I would, but it was the same for all of them.
I felt bad that Tim was having to do all of this for me.
But I just couldn't do it.
There was nothing wrong with me.
I was perfectly fine.
Tim's POV
I picked Lucy up from her third therapy session of the week, hearing from the therapist that she had again said nothing.
I didn't expect she would say anything, she had been silent for two weeks already and do doubted that only three hours with a completely stranger, no matter how qualified, was suddenly going to change that.
Still it hurt a bit as I put Lucy in that car, fitting her walker and crutches in the backseat.
I could feel she was hurting.
I just wanted to take all of the pain away. Being kidnapped and buried alive, especially for a second time, was bound to bring up some awful memories and leave new horrific ones, but I needed to be wrong for her.
Lucy's POV
Today was the day.
I needed to take the pregnancy test that the doctor had ordered I take.
I knew that no matter the result I would break down.
I waited until Tim and Tamara were asleep to do it, slowly manoeuvring myself from the bed into my walker and crutches to go into the ensuite bathroom a few metres away.
I made it to the toilet after a few minutes of slow shuffling and heavy breathing.
My hands were shaking, only made worse by the swelling that was not fully gone.
I reached forward and grabbed a single test from the pile under the sink, unwrapping it as quietly as I could.
I started at the stick in front of me, knowing I hadn't even used it yet.
I used the pregnancy test and set a quiet timer on my phone to check when it was ready.
One minute.
Two minutes.
Three minutes.
Four, five six.
Seven.
The timer beeped signalling it had been the full eight minutes the test told me to wait.
I didn't want to turn it over.
Couldn't I just wait until the morning?
Slowly I picked up the pregnancy test, flipping it over while my eyes were shut.
Positive.
That meant more hospitals, more medication.
More time being reminded I killed my baby.
Tears threatened to overtake my already swollen and still bruised face.
I tried to stifle my sobs while I hid the test in the bin under layers of toilet roll before making the three metre trek back into my bed.
I didn't sleep that night.
I just listened to the noises of my own almost silent sobbing and eventually the birds as the sun rose.
I hadn't really had trouble sleeping since it happened. I could always fall asleep, it was just the nightmares making me feel tired by waking me up in the middle of the night from my own occasional screams.
Tim's POV
I didn't heard Lucy scream last night. That was progress from her usual screams every night.
I walked to her room slowly to give her the same forehead kiss I did every morning before she was awake.
I stepped over to her side of the bed and noticed he cheeks were stained with tears and her eyes looked puffy like they did after crying.
"Luce, you're awake so open your eyes."
Lucy slowly opened her eyes, showing she wasn't actually asleep.
I reached down and slowly hugged her.
"You could have pressed the button and I would have come to help."
Lucy didn't even look over at me like she did most other mornings.
"Is everything ok Luce?"
She seemed especially out of it this morning.
She seemed sad, more so than every other morning.
"Do you want to write down what's wrong?"
Lucy made no indication she had even heard me.
"Um, Angela and Nyla want to come and do your statement tomorrow if that's ok?"
Lucy shook her head.
"Why not? Do you want to write it down?"
Lucy slightly nodded.
I quickly brought her back a pan and pad of paper to write with.
'hospital'
The single word she wrote down.
"You need to go to the hospital? Why? Is something wrong? Are you in pain?!"
Lucy didn't make another indication she had heard me but instead started getting up and standing up using her walked to head to her wardrobe to change.
After getting ready, I drive Lucy to the hospital as Juniper sits in the backseat.
She didn't seem in pain or anything so I wondered why she even wanted to go.
Lucy's POV
After an hour I was sent into a room to be seen by a doctor.
The doctor came in, it was the same woman I had when I was here a few weeks ago.
"Ah miss Chen. Based on the nature of the subject, would you like him to stay or leave?"
"She hasn't spoken since leaving the hospital."
Tim said what I most definitely wasn't going to.
Still I motioned with my hand for him to leave.
I was here to talk about my miscarriage, something Tim didn't ever have to know about.
"I assume because you're here, the test came back positive?"
I nod.
"Ok, I'm going to give you some more medication. Take this until the prescription runs out and comes back if the test is still positive as you may need surgery then. These tablets should last you a week ok?"
I nodded at the doctor, thankfully that at the very least I didn't need surgery right now.
