Leaving campus, Logan lead the way through the streets of the city until we reached an empty car lot. He stopped and I threw my arms out. "Your plan was to take me out to a parking lot?" I smiled a bit as I teased. "You're not a big romantic, are you."

He smirked, looking at me over his shoulder after scanning his surroundings. "If you want romance, I can do romance."

I raised a brow, intrigued by his half-serious tone. "Are you trying to seduce me, Logan?" I smiled coyly, crossing my arms over my chest.

Logan laughed quietly. "If I was trying to seduce you, sweetheart, you wouldn't have to ask. Trust me, you'd know."

My stomach did a quiet flip, but I proudly kept a cool face. "Don't tempt me with a good time." I quipped back, looking around the lot to keep from looking in his inviting eyes. "But seriously, what are we doing here?"

He shook his head with a small smile, looking forward again and waving a hand over his head to seemingly no one. A moment later, the X-Men's jet materialized out of thin air, parked elegantly on the concrete.

I laughed. "That's not getting old anytime soon." I murmured to myself, following behind Logan and walking up the opened ramp.

In the pilot's seat, looking over his shoulder, Scott nodded to me with a smile. "Someone call for an uber?"

I laughed, hugging him lightly from behind as he started up the jet and closed the ramp. "Good to see you, Scott." I ruffled his hair, heading to my seat and buckling in.

Logan grumbled to himself as soon as he saw him, sitting in the seat beside me. "I thought I asked Storm to pick us up."

I elbowed him subtly in the side. "Hey, be nice." The two of them were at each other's throats more often than not, and it hadn't escaped my notice. Though I got the feeling it was more habit now than actually animosity, I couldn't help but be curious as to why.

Scott just rolled his eyes under his red sunglasses, the jet coming off the ground with a small jolt. "Ororo's got classes to teach and Jean's giving a lecture in Boston, so you're stuck with me. Suck it up or get out and walk to Westchester."

Logan just leaned back in his seat, glaring halfheartedly at the back of Scott's head. I shook my head with a small smile before noticing he wasn't strapped in. "You're not gonna put on your seatbelt?" I asked with a frown.

Logan just smiled down at me. "You're adorable."

The rest of the jet ride went smoothly. It seemed that Scott had been briefed about my aversion to flying in a plane because he quickly settled into an easy conversation with me, asking about college and if Logan was behaving himself, the latter gaining a hefty eye roll from Logan.

When it came time to land, Scott turned to look at me over his shoulder with an apologetic smile. "I should warn you, I'm not the best at landing this thing, but we'll be out in just a minute."

My eyes widened and I grasped the armrests tightly. "Isn't landing like the most important part?" I questioned incredulously. He chuckled like I'd made a joke.

A moment later, I felt Logan's hand close over one of mine. Looking over, I saw he had a small, but reassuring smile on, distracting me almost entirely on account of it being such an unfamiliar sight.

The jet lurched as it touched down on the grass and I gasped inadvertently at the shock of it. The engines powered down and I heard the ramp unfold behind us. "That was... uh-"

Logan fished the words right out my head, minus any kind of filter. "That was horrible, do better next time."

I swallowed my laugh, undoing my seatbelt and standing. "He means it could... uh, use a little work, keep practicing."

Scott through a thumbs up over his shoulder. "See you at dinner, Bailey."

I followed Logan out of the jet as Scott powered it up again to go park it. As soon as we were outside, I ran my hands over my face. "Can I just fly us over next time? I don't know how much more of that jet I can take, and definitely not with Scott flying it."

Logan chuckled, leading the way across the lawn towards the lavish mansion. "You sure you can take a passenger up there with you?"

I pursed my lips as I considered it. "I mean... I haven't tried, but if there's anyone to test it out on, it would be Mr. Indestructible Skeleton." I smiled charmingly up at him as he opened the door for me.

He laughed, following me in and walking beside me. "Dropping out of the sky hurts. I still feel pain, you know?"

"Yes, but you don't die, and that's the important distinction to make."

Logan came to a stop, pushing a button in the wall I hadn't even realized was there. Then, the wood panels came apart to reveal a sleek, metallic elevator. I followed Logan in, regarding the out of place looking elevator as the doors closed. "This place is just full of surprises."

The doors opened again before I ever even felt us moving. The basement was like a completely different world to upstairs, all metallic tiles instead of glossy wooden floorboards. "Wow." I murmured in awe. "I can't believe you kept this place from me last time."

Logan lead the way again, easily navigating the silver maze. "I don't know if you remember, but you left in a bit of a hurry last time." He teased, opening another door for me.

I walked in to see a decently sized room with a high ceiling. The only furnishing was a black mat placed in the center of the floor. I narrowed my eyes at the strange looking walls, silver, like everything else, but with a strange looking texture.

He noticed my eyeline and explained. "Hank likes to call them 'mutant-proof' walls. You can use your powers in here without destroying the place."

I narrowed my eyes at him. "And you made me do my demonstration in the middle of the grounds for everyone to see?"

He smiled lowly. "Does that make you angry?" He goaded.

I frowned with a tilt of my head. "Angry? I was thinking more spiteful?"

Logan shrugged, taking his shoes off and stepping onto the mat in the center. "Spiteful works too."

I watched him carefully. "What are you doing?"

He smiled. "Take your shoes off, sweetheart, we're going to fight."
