The sun was now descending on another day here in Inazuma. Yet another day of me sitting around, twiddling my thumbs whilst I remain on this bereavement leave that Her Excellency put me on for the past few weeks.
But tonight would be different. Tonight would be a pleasant change of pace in these otherwise monotonous evenings of mine.
Because now that I had deciphered that letter, I planned to head back to that beach on Kannazuka Island, and to meet with Kujou Sara and speak with her one-to-one, and hopefully without the threat of violence or incarceration!
It was already quite late in the afternoon when Sangonomiya Kokomi took her leave of my quarters to return to her duties. So there wasn't all that long I had to wait until dusk began to fall upon our quaint little island we called home. And yet, despite the growing darkness, I knew it wouldn't be that easy to just leave without being noticed... we have soldiers patrolling the edges of Watatsumi Island all day and night long.
But... as a soldier here myself, I know the routes and times of each patrol. And on top of that, they're more than likely looking for boats approaching – I very much doubt that they'll be searching for, let alone notice, the one person running across the water's surface away from Watatsumi Island and off towards the other islands of Inazuma...
* * *
And so, at the most opportune point, when I had the biggest window of a witness-free endeavour, I emerged from my hiding spot and began to run across the surface of the Inazuman Sea. My Vision allowing me to treat the water as if it were a solid surface to run upon. And within but a couple minutes I was now far enough away from Watatsumi Island that I was likely to be entirely imperceptible to the human eye — especially when this is combined with the darkness of the sea and sky that enveloped me entirely.
Y/N: "That was... easier than I expected it to be, it wasn't even close? No matter. Now, I suppose, I ought to make heading for Kannazuka. Kujou Sara, are you actually waiting for me I wonder? And with what intentions...?"
The journey wasn't particularly challenging, I was effectively just going for a stroll, but this stroll happened to be taking place on top of an unfathomably deep ocean, rather than on the more simple land. So as to not get lost, though, I did ensure to keep at least one of the many Inazuman Islands within view at all times, lest I find myself wandering outside of Inazuma entirely by mistake!
There wasn't much in the way of humans to avoid travelling in this way, but I did find myself confronted by some Hilichurl-crafted platforms that were built out to sea. Platforms of which I was more than happy to destroy as I passed them by, to make these lands just that little bit safer without these monsters roaming about. I also grabbed what loot I could find that these Hilichurls had hoarded, as they would find good use as supplies for the Resistance Army... and they might just be enough to placate Her Excellency when she inevitably learns of my unsanctioned trip despite her wishes for me not to go!
Whilst I would find myself somewhat distracted by the desire to cleanse the open sea of these monsters and claiming their ill-gotten loot, I did eventually find myself at my destination. At the beach where Kujou Sara and I last spoke alone with one another, before I joined the Resistance Army and ended up becoming what was likely one of her biggest thorns in her side when it came to attaining victory for the Shogunate...
???: "You came? I wasn't sure if you were going to... And you came alone too. Thank you for that."
