Shinobu: "Heh, well, you've got yourself a deal then! I gotta say, you really know how to sell something, did you have prior training in sales, perhaps?"Y/N: "Not really, no. I was just a delivery person in recent times. I guess I picked up some tricks during my time working with Lady Ningguang. But I don't think I employed anything of the sort here, with you...?"
Shinobu: "Huh, I guess it just comes naturally to you then? You certainly sold me on those plans you drummed up. Have you been planning it since I first promised you a meal, I wonder!"
Y/N: "It just came to mind whilst we were chatting today is all. I'm just glad we were able to come to an agreement so quickly, especially with how close we ended up being to my camp after all this. Thanks for walking me back like this, by the way, Shinobu."
Shinobu: "Don't mention it, I enjoyed it. And not to mention I agreed to give a report to your General about our little operation together."
Y/N: "Huh? You really don't need to do that... that should be my duty as a Captain!"
Shinobu: "Heh. You worry too much! Lighten up some! Hmm... Now that I think about it... when was the last time you had a massage?"
Y/N: "A massage...?"
Shinobu: "Yeah. You've been through a whole bunch, especially recently with your injuries and all the pressure on your shoulders... You must be real tense I'd bet. When was your last proper massage then?"
Y/N: "Huh... I guess that would have to be back in Liyue. I used to have and give massages with the person I was taken with there, at the time. But they weren't proper massages, just... you know... bonding time... And now that's over..."
Shinobu: "I... You know, you never did properly fill me in on all of that. I mean, yeah, Yanfei told me a bunch of stuff, but I'm sure there's more you could tell me. And, hey, I actually have some certification in professional massages— you know, the deep tissue stuff? We could get two birds with one stone!"
???: "Oh, there you are Captain! We were just about to send a team out to find you, and now here you are! *sigh* And she's still with you..."
No sooner had Shinobu and I stepped foot into the Resistance Camp had we been beset upon by my most familiar soldier serving in my team that I captain: Yukina.
Yukina: "Captain! They wished for us to retrieve you and to return you to your barracks as soon as possible. You need your rest!"
Y/N: "Heh. Yukina, you treat me like some old senior. I'm feeling fine, there's no need to worry!"
Yukina: "It's not my call to make this time, hehe! Her Excellency herself made the order to find and return you to bed! What with the weather now returning to normal. I can't remember the last time I saw the sun shine on this island!"
Shinobu: "It really wasn't that difficult a fix, you just had to know what to look for. I'm still not entirely sure what happened to cause all of this..."
But I did. After all, I had discovered that water–logged note beside one of the sabotaged statues — that of a fellow Resistance soldier who had decided to take matters into their own hands, going behind the General's back for an operation of subterfuge and destruction whilst donning the appearance of Shogunate Soldiers.
I had yet to show this letter to Shinobu, as I intended to think on it some more before presenting it to General Gorou, or perhaps even Kokomi herself? After all, what proof is there that this was indeed written by a fellow comrade? It might be a ploy by another party entirely so as to plant the seeds of mistrust amongst our ranks...
