Chapter 3

I just stared at him, with my eyes wide and my jaw slack. When his eyes landed on me, they were filled with rage and shock. My eyes couldn't help but travel down his defined chest, hot damn he has six freaking packs.

When I finally gained my posture, I said calmly (although I was hyperventilating on the inside), "It's not-"

"What do you think you're doing?" He asked, more like yelled, his arms defensively behind his back.

"I just- umph- drunk- cry- bathroom- this- umph- room- I- Please don't hurt me!" I squeaked.

"I didn't get half of what you said." He said.

"Look," I started to ramble, "IwasatapartyandthenthisdrunkgirlcameandIdidn'tknowwhattodososhetookmetothis uh bathroomandthen um vomitedsoicameupandnowimhere." I said in one breath.

He stared at me like I was on drugs then sighed, "Look.. just leave. I had to deal with this stupid party and I'm fine with it, now I don't want to deal with some drunken girl." Then he put on a shirt, sadly.

"I'm not drunk!" I said, "Look, can you just please let me stay here till the end of the party? Most rooms are occupied and I really don't want to go down there!"

He sighed in frustration and said, "I swear to God if I heard a breath from you while I'm reading, you're going to be down there in five seconds time."

I nodded and kept fiddling with my clothes, the party looked like it was not going to end soon. Maybe I could sneak out and leave, yeah? Then my instincts told me that I just can't bail out on Eleanor when I'm actually making progress at befriending her.

I took a deep breath and said, "Caleb."

He ignored me and kept reading the book.

"Caleb." No response either.

"Caleb. Caleb. Caleb. Caleb!"

He groaned and muttered something under his breath and said, "What do you want?"

"I'm bored." I said.

"What do you want me to do?" He mumbled, "Turn into an X-Box or something?"

Progress! He's actually talking to me! I must keep this going.

"No, what are you reading?" I said.

"A book." He said.

"Oh, I'm sorry Caleb, I thought you were reading a car." I said sarcastically.

"Sarcasm isn't going to get you anywhere." He said.

But it will get me to talk to you! I thought.

"Caleb."

"That's it. You're going downstairs." He said.

I groaned and said, "Oh come on! Please please please?"

"I don't get why you don't leave and go home or something." He said.

I shrugged, "I don't like to leave people."

He looked at me for a few seconds then shook his head quickly and kept reading whatever he was reading.

Looking around the room, I saw a bookshelf, my eyes sparkled and I went over there.

"Too Kill A Mockingbird.

Wuthering Heights.

Beloved.

The Book Theif.

Macbeth."

Were some on the first shelf, on the second shelf there were more books.
