Chapter 17

This is the FINAL chapter of Falling For You. Thank you all for reading <3

It's been exactly seven days since I communicated with Caleb at the party. We didn't really utter any words the entire car ride, mostly because I was seated in the backseat with Eleanor sleeping on my lap, and Caleb was driving. We didn't want to wake her up.

Today was the dreaded day of the dance, and the entire week I'd been exercising and squatting like crazy because it took my mind off of things. It made me feel super sore and tired, but it was kind of worth it.

While I was in the middle of a push-up, the doorbell rang. I dropped on my elbows and exhaled deeply. Eleanor and I planned to get ready at my house, so that must've been her. She was standing there holding two bags (probably one for her dress and accessories and the other for the makeup thingies)

I walked her to my room and then took a quick shower, when I got back she was laying everything on the bed. "What time is it?" she asked.

"It's 5, which means we have two hours to get ready."

"Then I'm gonna go back because George," she groaned.

I bit my lip before thinking about suggesting that we all go together; her, George, Darriel (I mean William), me, but then realized how much of a mess that could go. I decided against it.

"Also, you look really toned up and great!" she complimented and I shyly thanked her.

"So I was watching a few make up tutorials yesterday and," she said, "I decided to go with something kind of natural but with, like, a dramatic lip color."

I nodded then inwardly cursed when she held up two lip colors that looked almost exactly the same to me. They were both a violet color. "Which one would fit me better?"

"Ah..." I started stupidly then had a little game of eenie-meenie in my head. Then I pointed at the slightly darker shade. "This one."

"Great!" she said then threw the other one in the bag, since she won't need it.

"By the way, do you have any idea what's up with Caleb? He's been moping around all week long. It's so weird!" she said and my eyebrows furrowed.

Caleb was upset? Why? He had a really hot date to the dance (well, I did too but that's because I bribed his friend with a few marshmallows!) and he didn't look that affected in the car. That guy was so weird, more like, eccentric. He was weird but he was really intriguing, and hot. Goddarn it, shut up Audrey!

I scratched the back of my neck, "Um, I don't know.."

Eleanor finished zipping up her dress and narrowed her eyes at me. "Did you have a fight or something?"

Damn! Curse my inability to lie without being completely see-through.

"Sorta, it was nothing important," I said.

"Nothing important my ass!" she said. "The guy's depressed as heck."

I was frankly surprised that Eleanor swore for the first time. I looked at her and took a deep breath. "Eleanor, I feel like he's... leading me on. I don't know," I mumbled awkwardly as I looked at myself in the long mirror. I looked... okay. The dress looked nice on my body, at least I didn't look disgusting.

She was sitting in front of my mirror, beginning on the foundation on her face, "How's he leading you on?"

I looked around my room. "He just— he's— he makes me feel like I'm important to him," I said.
