15: SEASON

People were like an ever-changing season.
Their trajectory was volatile but natural.
They make you feel wonderfully cozy as autumn
before forsaking you in winter.
Everyone is capable of abandoning you
for a single reason.
Even the one you consider
to be a sanctuary has the power
to leave you shuddering.
It was tragic,
but it was all part of growing up.
And we must learn to embrace it.
