RIGHT WHERE YOU LEFT ME
"Help, I'm still at the restaurant
Still sitting in a corner, I haunt
Cross-legged in the dim light
They say, "What a sad sight."-Taylor Swift
Walking down a dark road with no idea where it will lead. It shows up to be an infinite road without an end in sight. It was grueling. Along with a famished feeling for something I don't know what. Walk. Walk. Walk. That is only I can do. Wishing that the next stride would bring out just a sliver of light.
After a long and exhausting trek, a soft grin crept onto my lips. It was a restaurant! A place so dazzling and aglow appeared in the middle of nothingness in the dead of night. I hastily made my way to the place's doorway. A pleasant sensation came over me. A man. A man in a suit and tie with a Cheshire cat smile. "How can I help you?" he asked. I told him what had occurred to me and how insatiable I am. He smiled brightly at me. Again. Gently guiding me to where I will sit. In the corner, next to the windowpane. He then handed me the menu and took my order. I am not sure why, but something about his presence relieves me.
As I wait for my order, I peek around the room. It was classic and comfortable. The ambiance was peaceful and winding down. My mind felt at ease. My heart was ablaze. He brought my order to me a little time later. "Enjoy your food, Ma'am. I hope it fills your ravenous feelings." He said softly as he served me my dinner
Lip-smackingly delicious! The flavor was unfathomable. A flavor that my tongue has never tasted before. It made me want more. The sharp set was brimming with scrumptious food. The meal and company were both extremely good. That's it! This was something I was longing for. Something that will bring me to the refuge of solitude. In this place.
A flickering light flashed in my eyes. I found it. A part of the world I had no idea I could see. A serene setting. A place that made me experience sensations I'd never felt before. Who would have believed I'd uncover a place like this in the throes of gloomy and messy world? It fills the hole in my life.
I pay for my food once I finish it. I intended to ask him where this area was when he helped me outbound when a sudden burst of luminescence struck my face. It appears that the abyss that had been engulfing me a short while before ceased to exist.
In due course, I became a regular customer. Its service captivated me totally. It gives me something I wasn't aware I was worthy of receiving. It feels so natural and tuned to my prerequisites. However, as time passed, the serving changed. The man who had served me on the first day had disappeared. It wasn't all that horrible, but it's not something I'd enjoy. Nonetheless, I continue to eat it. I'm hoping it'll be as mouthwatering as the first bite.
Hence, I eagerly stood by. I am still in the restaurant, waiting for you to come. Sitting in the corner, where you saved me the first time we met. I was anticipating that it will return to its former glory or grow into something greater. And I was holding a dandelion that I had picked up along the way, wishing that my next visit might let me scrape up against a whisper of fate and catch a final glimpse of you.
