Stage 4: DEPRESSION

On a gloomy day last November, she was finished with her major course exam when she received a message from him. She's not astonished but rather anticipating it. He is breaking up with her. Telling her he needs to fix himself. And she believed. She believed it was genuine, and she may have needed it.

Her relationship with him feels the most real. It felt fresh and pure. Perhaps from her thoughts. She experienced serene and — silent love. Quiet in dealing with problems and mute in listening to her sobs.

After a week of separation, she learned that he had been seeing someone new, whom he referred to as his "friend". Is it really a friend that you nearly tasted? And now the truth has been exposed. Despite his long-standing denial, he is a lying traitor. He may not have called it cheating, but he did betray her. That is the worst thing you can do to someone you love. Leaving her behind in an illusion of hope and in the veil of actuality.

You can't blame a lover's fury for flickering a flame in her heart.
