16: MEMORIES

December was an overflowing
glimpse of us.
Plagued within me
like a reverberating ghost.
I cannot seem to uncover a way out.
It used to give my pulse pound.
It’s difficult to breathe now,
As if something is lodged in my lungs.
Suffocating.
Smothering me.
The kind sensation will live with me forever.
Our memories were like a shadow next to me,
Follow me across this little town.
You will always be my all-consuming passion,
Even I am a distressing burden to you.
Caressing and kissing each scar you’ve left,
Just like when our lips met.
I hope you achieve a sense of peace.
