A/N: Well hello everyone! It's been... uh, waaaaay too long. Work has been crazy busy ever since I got a promotion earlier this year, so I haven't had much time for writing. Which is why I've been saving all my vacation time at work this year to take a couple weeks off and head up to the mountains on a Writer's Retreat! I suppose it worked, because here's an update for you. XD
That said, I'm also hoping to update a few things for the holidays in a couple different fandoms. I can't promise anything, but I'm doing my best.
Did you know? I've got a Discord! :D Pop in to say hello, drop artwork, or keep up-to-date on which stories I'm working on. You might even be able to snag unposted snippets, or catch what I call 'livereads', which is where I'll read an unpublished story on voicechat for you all to listen to! I'll drop the Discord link below, so feel free to check it out. :)
All that aside, though this is a bit of a 'filler chapter', I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. Side note, Yevette and Urbosa are so damn cute together!! *bites lip* I ship it! If they were ever to become a romantic couple, do you know how crazy strong that power-couple would be?! Even Calamity Ganon would think thrice. Haha. That aside, read their relationship however you'd like. I've left it a bit ambiguous on purpose, so whether they're friends, sisters, or something more is up to you. XD

Urbosa hummed softly to herself as she put the final dish away. Lunch had been a boisterous affair, and while she hadn't fully recovered from the ordeal of Link's kidnapping, her son had bounced back remarkably fast. Linae was also excelling in her new spear arts. Though she was down to one arm, she was already besting most of the warriors in Urbosa's private guard. Typhir was rather pleased.
At the moment, Link was training with Typhir and Ruja. Many would argue that three was too young to start combat training, but after the incident, Urbosa would rather be called callous than lose her son again. Nothing could've prepared her for the torrent of terror and fury that'd overwhelmed her when her son went missing. It was a rather sobering realization that she wouldn't be able to handle it if something happened to Link. Even now, nearly three months after the incident, she hardly let her son out of her sight.
"That's a heavy sigh for such a peaceful day." Linae's voice had her head turning. The warrior was leaning casually against the wall, gaze firmly fixed upon the prince outside as he held his wooden scimitar, modeled after Urbosa's own Scimitar of the Seven.
"I wish this peace would last a lifetime." The Gerudo Chieftess shook her head. "Of course, that's just wishful thinking."
"Lady Yevette should arrive soon." The young girl hummed.
"I did try to warn her away." Urbosa's lips ticked downwards at the reminder. "We still have no idea what kind of tricks these new Yiga have up their sleeves." Indeed, the realization that there were factions within the Yiga Clan was very new information. And in times such as these, the Queen and Princess of Hyrule were prime targets.
"We've sent out two squadrons to escort them. They've been sending messages every six hours, and have reached every checkpoint on time." Linae pushed away from the wall and gently patted Urbosa's shoulder. "We're taking every precaution."
"I know. I suppose I just can't help but worry." Urbosa shook her head as her gaze returned to her son. He was a complete natural with combat, it seemed. And while most children with wooden swords would treat it like a game, it seemed that the incident had driven home how much weight a blade could hold. Link applied himself wholeheartedly to the task at hand without complaint, though he obviously favored the training sessions with Linae or Urbosa herself the most.
