A lavish modern contemporary house located in an exclusive subdivision, finely decorated with modern art, chic furniture, and a breathtaking view of the cityscape. An afternoon sun fills the open-plan living room and dining area, where a long table is elegantly set for the luncheon. At one end, there's a sprawling terrace with generous seating and a sumptuous spread of food laid out. Outside the dining room is the beautifully designed infinity pool with a magnificent man-made waterfalls.
David throws a house warming party and invites all his friends to come over including his ex-lover Torrance.
"Wow, Dave, this house is superb!" Celina feels awe and amazed.
"You really outdid yourself this time brother!" Charlie says while doing the fist bump with David.
"Oh I'm falling in love with the infinity pool. It's so pretty!"says Patricia.
"A big shout to my architect who did an incredibly amazing job!" David taps Jade's shoulder.
Jade smiles and feels proud. "I'm still waiting for my last check." Jade jokingly says.
Nicole feels hesitant to mingle with David's friends.
CJ knocks on the bedroom door. "Nic, it's me. Can I come in?"
Nicole walks to the door and opens it.
"Hey, why are you locking yourself in here? You should go down. Dinner is almost ready," CJ tells Nicole.
"I don't know. After what happened, I'm just not comfortable being around them," Nicole's fidgeting her fingers.
"I understand how you feel and just like me, I think they feel sorry too," CJ's trying to make Nicole feel at ease.
Nicole walks to the bed and sits on it. "I just stay here, CJ. I'll be fine."
David suddenly gets inside the room. "Babe?"
CJ looks at her brother giving her the look which translates. ("You should talk to her.") I'm just gonna go down now and help, Maria and Francois. (CJ walks out of the room)
David walks to Nicole. "Babe, what's wrong? I thought we already talked about this."
Nicole looks at her boyfriend. "I'm sorry but I don't....I'm still not ready to face them. The pain... it's....it is still fresh and I...please just let me have this space for now."
David feels upset.
Nicole walks in the closet and gets her bag. She goes back to David. "It's better if I'll leave for now and uhm just come back later once the party is done."
David frowns. "Don't do this."
Regina and Clifford arrive.
Celina smiles and welcomes Clifford with a big warm tight hug. "We miss you so much, Cliffy!"
Clifford just rolls his eyes.
"I literally begged him to come here tonight," Regina shared.
Clifford looks around.
Shelley holds Clifford. "We're all going to apologize to Nicole."
Clifford just smiled and didn't comment.
"Oh Clifford McCullen Albrecht, don't be like that!" Shelley hugs Clifford.
"Don't leave, just stay here." David embraces Nicole.
Nicole stares at her boyfriend. "If only you had remembered me, it would be so much different."
