The Mystery of Us (You and Me Against the World)

Chapter Three

Maria prepares David's breakfast.

David descended the staircases while talking to his secretary over his cellphone. "Please move my appointment from nine to ten if you can, Kit."

"But Sir you have an appointment at ten  with Mr. Marshall from GW Electronics Corp.," says Kit.

"Ohh fu..uhm sorry...I didn't mean to say that," David walks into the kitchen and gets his cup of coffee.

CJ goes out of her car and walks inside the building.

"Good morning, Ms. Anderson." An employee greets CJ.

CJ smiles. "Good morning too." CJ gets inside the elevator.

David gets in his car and starts the engine. He checks his cellphone before starting to drive away.

It'll be a busy day for David, he starts with a meeting with his father and his schedule is full packed.

Kit sees David just come out from his father's office and walk to him. Handing him over a Surface tablet.

David checks the pdf document and signs it. "I may have to clear up my schedule in the afternoon. I got a very important thing  to do.

"Will that include your meeting with Mr. Zachary Walker?" Kit asks.

"Cancel it, I'll talk to Zach now." David pulls his cellphone from his pocket and dials Zach's number. "Hi Zach, it's me David."

Kit opens the door for David and he gets inside his office. He directly walks to his executive swivel chair and sits down while talking with Zach.

Ralph Anderson fixes his tie before getting in his daughter's office. "Hi there sweetheart!"

CJ looks up. "Dad, what a surprise?"

Ralph smiles and walks near CJ's desk.

CJ stands up from her seat. She motions to give her father a kiss on the cheek and a hug. "I thought that you're in New York. How about mom, is she here also?"

"It's just me. I came all the way down here to talk to your brother, David." Ralph tells his daughter. "How about we'll have lunch together? Are you available?"

"Oh daddy, you don't need to ask. I'm very much available for you." CJ says and embraces him.

"Hmm sweetie, I don't want to sound like I'm meddling with your personal life but are you seeing someone new?" Ralph feels curious.

"Dad uhm...no, not yet though there are some who's asking me on a date and giving me flowers but I'm kind of enjoying my single life as of the moment," answers CJ.

"Well I'm glad to hear that, Catherine. Enjoy your life as it's fullest." said Ralph and kissed his daughter's forehead.

Nicole is staring at the diagram and can't seem to focus on her the report she's making.

Bethany roams around and sees Nicole at the far end of the office. She walks towards Nicole's office table and looks at her. "Are you just goin' to stare at it?"

Nicole looks at her older sister. "Uhm...(Nicole sighs)

"You seem a little distracted. What's going on?" asks Bethany.

"I'm fine." Nicole ignores her sister and continues to make her report.

"I want that report before lunch and I also want the hard copy. Thanks." Bethany walks away.
