Lydia's POV:

It was a long night and I'm glad it has come to an end. The next day, I woke up, refreshed and happy. Today, Thomas and I would start over by going on a date. He wouldn't tell me where we would be going, insisting it remained a surprise. To be honest, I was really nervous. I wanted things to go well tonight. I really like Thomas, which was weird since I rarely like someone. I've never even had a relationship, not even a kiss. I really didn't want to mess up my chances here.

I was in my room since everyone else was taking a nap, like they usually do after lunch. I decided to start reading a new book to pass the time, when my phone started vibrating. It was a message from Thomas. My heart skipped a beat as I slid to unlock my phone to look at his message.

So Dylan snores REALLY loud. I've never noticed it before. How can you live with this?! xx

I chuckled and typed my answer: Haha, you get used to it ;p Why aren't you sleeping? x

T: Can't sleep. Too nervous, I guess.

L: Me too, about tonight. I don't know why though :3

T: Well you shouldn't be. I've planned it all haha xx

L: Really? Then why don't you tell me where we're going?

T: Surprise, love :*

L: I hate surprises :( x

T: I'm still not telling you. I'll try to rest for an hour or so. Pick you up at 8 ;p

L: From my room? xD

T: Haha, well yeah. It's called trying to be a gentleman.

L: Ok, Thomas ;p See you at 8 xx

I slid the phone back into my pocket and began contemplating all the possible outcomes of tonight. Well, the best outcome would be having a great time with Thomas and him asking me out again. Worst case scenario, we have a terrible time and things become awkward for us and we avoid each other until he leaves. Oh boy. I shake the bad thoughts from my head and try to calm myself. Everything will be okay... With that, I drifted to sleep.

------------------------

I wake up and turn to check the clock. The time was 18:30 and I only had one and a half hours to get ready, mentally as well as physically. Oh God. I jump up and run to the shower, quickly scrubbing my body and rinsing myself before I wash my hair. I head out of the shower when I'm finished and wrap a towel around my hair and another one around my body.

After drying myself, I wear my favorite flower print leggings and a  cute beige top with a girl and the words 'Free hugs' printed on it, and finally some lace beige flats. I also took my paper airplane necklace and put it on.  After, I sat across from my mirror, beginning to curl my hair and then applied minimal makeup, so I looked good but natural. When I was finished, I looked at myself in the mirror. I should really lose some weight, but nonetheless I looked presentable.

It was 19:58 when a knock sounded on my door. I took a big breathe and walked towards the door, turning the door knob.

Thomas' POV:

Wow! When she opened her bedroom door, my breathe was taken away. She was beautiful. Her hair flowed down to her back, her hazel eyes twinkling and her lips pink and full. Her tight pants complimented her curves and  voluptuous figure perfectly. She was truly breathtaking.

"Wow. You look, wow," that was all I could say. Her cheeks were now red and she looked down.

"You look great, too. And you're very punctual, too."

"I came two minutes early, I couldn't help myself." I could feel the blood rise to my cheeks now as I could feel her eyes on me. "Ugh, shall we go?" I help my arm out and she took my arm as she nodded. We walked down the stairs and as soon as we were out the door, she turned to me.

"So are you going to tell me where you're taking me?"

"Nope."

She groaned and let go of my arm, walking to a nearby bench and sitting down. I went after her.

"What are you doing, love?"

"Sitting down. I'm not going anywhere with you until you tell me where you are taking me."

"You are so stubborn," I sat down on the bench next to her, resting my hand on her knee. "I know you hate surprises, but I need you to let me take control tonight."

She turned to me. "Am I going to like the surprise, at least?"

"I think so. Come and see," her lips slowly parted. She was so beautiful. "You are really the most beautiful girl I've ever seen." I repositioned a strand of hair away from her face and then stood up. "Do you want to come with me?"

She nodded and intertwined our fingers, allowing me to lead her to the surprise. We walked a couple blocks until we were finally here. I smile at Lydia, but my smile fades away when I see tears escape her eyes.

"What's wrong?"

"A karaoke bar? This is my first date ever and you bring me here?"

"I thought you love music and singing-"

"Loved. Past tense. Now even the thought of singing terrifies me."

"Why?" I held her in my arms. She was shaking, obviously upset.

"I'm sorry, Thomas. I appreciate the gesture but I can't go in there." She escaped from my arms and ran. She literally ran away crying. I ran after her, calling her name. I was too late, when I went around the corner, I lost her.

I screw things up, again. I let her go, again. I ruined any chance I had with her, again. Why? Why did I do this? Why didn't I know that she hates karaoke? Why did I embarrass her like that? Why did I make her cry? Why?

I walked around trying to answer all these questions. I couldn't. I didn't know why she hated karaoke or why I didn't bother asking if she did. She hated surprises too and I didn't tell her. I could have avoided this mess, but clearly that's not what happened.

Then, I finally found her, sitting on a park bench two blocks from the house, still crying.
