The Worst Slayer

Chapter 32

I woke up the next morning after the incident with Braxton. I saw my left hands knuckles slightly bruised.

I got out of my bed and made my way to Dante's room. I bowed in front of him and yawned.

"Dante, again, sorry for yesterday."

He waved his hand telling me to silence.

"Its fine Dakota. So, as a new clan member you are but merely a Recruit. The man you about killed yesterday, he's a General sadly... but you... Im promoting you to a Guard. You will protect this lodge as you've already shown you can do."

I smiled and bowed.

"Thank you Dante."

He smiled back.

"Go on now. Make sure these dumbasses aren't fighting."

I chuckled and left his room. I looked around the halls and saw Erin again, staring. I looked away and stepped outside.

Neither Ryan nor Braxton were out here. Skylar was training a new recruit. A girl. I walked over and looked at Skylar then the Recruit.

"Your name?"

I asked.

"Im Autumn."

She replied.

She had Light blonde hair and Hazel eyes. She was a very skinny girl.

"Im Dakota, im the Lodges Guard. Try not to cause trouble here, or uh... well, just dont do it."

Skylar raised her eyebrows.

"A guard? By the gods... thats a single rank lower then me! How have you achieved such a rank so soon!"

I walked away not replying. I walked into the lodge and saw a member of the clan tieing his shoe.

I walked past him and walked into my room. At first it was my bed I saw... the bed was a twin, and is now a King size, my carpet which was used and stained is now fresh and vibrant, I thought I walked into the wrong room.

Dante laughed from behind me.

"Dakota! I thought, why not upgrade your room a bit as a thank you for being the Clans Guard."

I smiled and looked back at my room.

"Damn you guys move fast."

I said.

Dante walked back to his room. I layed down on my bed and smiled. Very comfortable. I saw a note on my dresser.

'Rivalry between Braxton and Ryan must be watched.'

I took the note off and found another.

'Relationship status between Braxton and Ryan: Complicated.'

I threw the notes away and raised an eyebrow. I better get paid to do this because I didnt go to work today.

I left my room and wandered off into the halls again. As I passed Dante's room, I saw Landon talking to him. I shook my head and kept walking.

I walked back outside and saw Autumn hovering already. She's a quick learner. Probably because she isnt distracted.

"Hey."

I said, hovering up beside Autumn. She laughed and looked at me.

"Hello."

She said.

I hovered back down with Autumn, and looked at Skylar.

"Autumn, dont get distracted by fuck tards like this."

Skylar insisted.

I walked forward toward Skylar.

"I never thought id have to put my hands on a girl."

She widened her eyes.

"Dakota calm down."

I shrugged and backed away.

"Didnt mean to scare you."

I grinned and walked away, only to see Braxton leaving the lodge. I stopped in place and looked at him. He shook his head and walked towards me.

"Dakota, you're one strong mother fucker. Maybe its the slayer or the vampire in you. Hell, could be both. But... I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with Erin. Just in case you think your a hot head. Watch out bud."

He walked past me and patted my shoulder. I gritted my teeth and decided not to say anything. I walked back into the lodge seeing Landon (Alex) as I walked in.

"Hey Dakota, why'd you leave in such a hurry?"

He asked.

"Alex, im not in the mood man."

"Whatever you say boss."

I exhaled slowly in anger at his remark. I left him to Stand in the hall. I walked down to Erin still.. standing where he normally does.

He looked up and stared at me. His Neon blue eyes, Jet Black hair that covers his left eye and his hoodie he wore over his head.

"Erin, how is it you made Guard? You just.. Stand here all day.. and watch this hall? You might want to like, move around, survey other areas around this lodge."

He stood silently with a blank face. His lips a light pink, and his pale skin... I shook my head and walked away.

"You have fun there Friend."

I said cockily.

I sat down on my bed and rubbed my face. I heard a familiar voice.

"You okay Dakota?"

I moved my hands and saw Autumn. I shook my head and laughed.

"Déjà Vu... yes im good."

She smiled and shyly walked in.

I raised an eyebrow and looked up into her eyes.

"What is it you want Autumn?"

Before she opened her mouth, Ashley walked in bumping Autumns shoulder, and sat down next to me.

"Babe, you dont need to be rude to the new girl."

Ashley shrugged.

"No one gets my man."

She said before she smiled and kissed me.

I looked back at Autumn who was slightly embarrassed.

"Yes darling?"

She shook her head and turned around to leave.

"Keep these halls safe..."

She left the room to me and Ashley. I yawned and layed back on the bed before drifting away into my own dark galaxy.
