________
A lot of changes can happen in a year. First off, how old you can get. Second, how one percent of land is diminished annually--That's a fact, if you don't know.
How last year, i ate lunch with my family and my boyfriend. But now, i'm eating lunch with my family and my ex-boyfriend.
And yes, my past relationship with Jake was an open relationship, everybody knew about us. My parents don't have any problem with it, they're good friends with Jake's parents since they are both charity organizers.
Jake arrived at our house, late this morning and now he's seated beside me at our dinner table.
Peanut butter sandwiches and baked macaroni. Its not an 'it' combination, but they--technically, peanut and pasta--are both my favorite so i think mum made these for me.
"Did mum accidentally put worms in your food?" Liv asks Jake and he shakes his head no.
"Then why are you just staring at your sandwich?" Liv asks, resting her head on her hand that is leaned on the table.
"Well..." Jake starts.
"He's allergic in peanuts." I say at the same time Jake says: "I have a peanut allergy."
"Oh." Mum's grin widen. Teasingly looking at Jake and I.
Well, what can i say? Mum can be a giggly teenager sometimes. And that version of mum is not my favorite.
"Harper, why don't you cook something for Jake?" Dad suggests and i nod, turning my head to look at Jake.
"What food do you want?" I ask.
"What do you have under your sleeves?" He retorts, and i have the perfect idea!
This is the reason why Mum, Dad and Liv looks like they're grossing out while looking at the food that i had prepared for Jake.
"Is that baked puke?" Liv asks and mum nudges her.
"Liv!" Mum scolds.
"Respect, kid. Its food." I snort at her.
"Doesn't look like it." She murmurs and i narrow my eyes at her.
"Its Cheesy Lasagna, okay?" I inform them to keep them from freaking out because of the looks of the food.
"Are you sure this is edible?" Dad cautiously lifts the platter and studies it sternly.
"Yes, of course." I state in a matter of fact. Getting a little upset.
Jake clears his throat, grabbing our attention.
He digs out a hearty amount of lasagna and munches it undoubtly.
They--mum, Liv and dad--wait for his opinion on the food, looking at him impatiently.
Jake signals them a thumbs up and they all scoop a taste.
Mum, after trying half a spoon of my lasagna, looks at me and gives me an apologetical smile. And so did dad.
My sister, on the other hand, her mouth is full of my masterpiece food that she can't even speak properly.
