Grace found Sarah sitting at the edge of the cliff overlooking the beach, her back to the ocean. She was staring at the horizon, her arms crossed over her chest as if shielding herself from something.

"Sarah?" Grace's voice was tentative as she approached.

Sarah didn't turn around, but Grace could see the tension in her posture, the way her body was coiled tightly. "What do you want, Grace?"

"I just... I want to talk," Grace said softly, sitting down next to her. "I don't want things to be like this between us."

For a moment, there was nothing but the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Then Sarah spoke, her voice barely audible. "I don't know how to fix it. How to fix any of this."

Grace felt a pang in her chest. "You don't have to fix everything, Sarah. I just want you to know that I'm not trying to take anything away from you. I'm not trying to come between you and the others. I care about you, and I care about the group. I just... don't know how to make it right."

Sarah turned her head slowly, her eyes searching Grace's face. "I'm scared, Grace," she said quietly. "I'm scared of losing everything. Losing the group. Losing... what I thought was mine."

Grace reached out, gently placing a hand on Sarah's arm. "You haven't lost anyone. We're all still here. No one's going anywhere."

For the first time in what felt

like forever, Sarah let out a shaky breath and finally let her guard down. "I don't know what I was so afraid of," she whispered. "Maybe it was just me being afraid of feeling replaced."

Grace smiled softly. "You're irreplaceable, Sarah. No matter what."

The two of them sat there in silence, the sound of the ocean a constant presence in the background, until they were ready to face the next chapter of their tangled friendships.
