Mark Masa arrived at the office at seven in the morning. The young assistant managed to stuff his personal belongings into the drawer, then sat down to ponder something in silence before letting out a heavy sigh and getting up to walk to his boss's office. He was accompanied by a nagging bad feeling that he couldn't shake and that had been bothering him all night.

When the large door opened, the once tidy office looked more chaotic than usual. Several items were out of place and things on the desk had been swept to one side. Looking down at the floor, a large paperweight lay askew as if it had been thrown onto the floor. Patt continued to arrange the items despite the heavy feeling in his heart. He still completed his duties without fail. It's like a mini war zone in here.

"They probably had a lot of fun, huh?" Mark muttered to himself as he carefully picked up each item and placed it in its place. A bitter smile appeared at the comer of his mouth and his normally bright eyes dimmed slightly.

Soon, Vee's office door opened again and the rhythmic sound of footsteps indicated who it was.

"Morning, boss." The young assistant greeted with due etiquette, moving away from the desk to make way for his superior.

"Are you done with the desk?"

"Did you find what you were looking for?" (Vee's ID and driver's license)

"Yeah, thanks for reminding me anyway. " Vee's tone held a slight hint of sarcasm, but Mark decided not to prolong the conversation. There was no point in arguing first thing in the morning.

"Okay, anyway... would you like some coffee right now?" Mark asked nonchalantly.

"Hmm." Vee simply grunted with a smile, his hands casually in his pants pockets.

Mark left the room and returned shortly afterward with coffee and two slices of toast with orange jam and fresh butter. His boss's favorite breakfast. He left breakfast and left as quietly as he had entered. Mark spent the morning clearing up backlogs and meticulously reporting to his boss on various appointments.

The atmosphere between them was tense and cold, devoid the usual pleasantries or questions about each other's well-being that had been common over the years. It was just the behaviour of a boss and a subordinate. This is fine! Just a boss and a subordinate

"Mark burn them all down. Casinos don't set them, all on fire." Em walked over to the desk and whispered as he answered an internal email.

The young man listened sympathetically, guessing that Vee's signature stern voice must have made everyone's hair stand on end.

"I'm sorry." Mark said, sounding genuinely guilty.

"It'so. The boss is always like that. But you, Mark, are really good at handling them. No matter the situation." Em said admiringly, then continued chatting as if she needed to vent to someone.

"When your desk phone rang, I answered it for you." That's when Vee started ranting. "When I told him you were out, he exploded, making everyone on the floor cringe."

Mark gave a slight smile, imagining what Vee must have looked and acted like. Vee was a tough nut to crack, especially when he was upset. He often came across as fierce, not to mention his deep, raspy voice that sent shivers down one's look uncomfortable as the atmosphere turned icy. Patt turned around and noticed Vee moving in on their conversation.

Em quickly silenced her gossip about the boss, her breathing and panic evident as she greeted the imposing boss before quickly apologizing at his terrifying look.

"Mark, call Pichit about the Grand Season company contract. I've sent all the details to your email. Cancel the afternoon appointments. I need to discuss an urgent contract issue because I have to go to Japan in two days."
