The phone ringing at one in the morning woke Mark in his bed. Rubbing his eyes lazily, having fallen asleep alone around eleven, he was disturbed from his sleep less than two hours later. This situation had become a familiar loop once again.

'Vee Vivis'

The name on the screen showed who was calling. It was nothing new for his boss to call him like that in the middle of the night.

"Yeah." Mark's voice was hoarse with drowsiness as he moved to sit up, half asleep.

"Come pick me up." Said the raspy voice on the other end of the line, a simple message but clear in its intent.

Mark figured his idiot boss had been drinking heavily as usual... After having dinner together that same night, Mark told himself that he needed to adjust his feelings towards Vee. He needed a foundation for the work of personal emotions. If he mixed the two, the work would be affected. He would wait a little longer to find a new job, although it wouldn't be much. In the meantime, he would give it his all so he wouldn't regret it later. When the time came to leave, the remaining moments would at least be memorable, at least for him.

Mark closed his eyes, massaged his temples with one hand, and sighed softly. He felt that it wasn't exactly boredom, but rather a mix of worry and possessiveness.

"Where are you?" He turned on the bedside lamp, put on his glasses, and shook his head vigorously to wake himself up.

"The usual place."

"Okay." Mark agreed without further questions.

He quickly got up and went to the bathroom to wash his face and shake off the drowsiness. He changed out of his pajama pants into faded jeans and a tight gray T-shirt, grabbed his wallet, stuffed it into his back pocket, and walked out of the room.

As soon as Mark got out of the cab, he saw Vee leaning against a fancy sports car, smoking a cigarette, drawn out like he'd been waiting for Mark to appear. Those eyes narrowed slightly before he tossed the butt to the ground, crushing it out in his shoe even though it wasn't finished. His robust beauty radiated so brightly that Mark was almost dazzled.

"Are you here?"

"Yes." Mark walked over and held out his hand for the keys to the sports car, a thing that had become second nature. Every time Vee drank, Mark would drive his boss home. Initially, Vee would call him that in the middle of the night, but when Mark offered to drive him home, the task of picking up Vee after a drink became a chore Mark was more than happy to do.

Mark opened the car for his boss before taking his place in the driver's seat. He started the car and carefully pulled out of the parking lot. Within twenty minutes, the luxury sports car was parked in the penthouse. Mark turned off the engine and wordlessly handed the keys back to the owner, but Elis suddenly grabbed his wrist.

"Follow me for a second. I want to talk."

"I'm okay. I should be back. If there's anything, we can talk on the phone tomorrow." Mark refused and tried to pull his arm away, but the stubborn man dragged him out of the car and pushed him forward forcefully.

Mark, dragged into the elevator by Vee without heed of his protests, resisted and argued all the way, but the other party didn't seem to care. Once the elevator doors closed, Mark took two steps away from the tall figure, crossed his arms, and decided to ignore the person staring at him unblinkingly. So it's going to be like this, huh? So selfish. The man being silently criticized cracked a smile and pressed the elevator button for his floor, amused by the attendant's defiant behavior. When the elevator opened, Mark moved, so the tall man had to grab him by the arm and pull him out.
