"Vee, why did you say that? I'm not planning on going with you." Mark's voice was serious, almost gruff, which was unusual since he always spoke politely to Vee. He never raised his voice or showed emotion. Despite knowing that Mark was quite upset with him, Vee still offered him a sweet smile as if he didn't notice the situation.

"Come on, Mark. Aren't you here on vacation? Don't you like the free food?"

"What does that have to do with the other one? And for the record... I'm not one to be led by food." Mark replied firmly, not exactly annoyed but more irritated by Vee's apparent lack of a clue.

"It's not like that at all. I just wanted to invite you over. I want you to be my company... just the two of us." Vee's eyes sparkled again... and the phrase 'just the two of us' sounded oddly delicate and problematic. Mark felt Vee's flirtations grow more pronounced with each encounter, as did his face and his expressive eyes. No matter how much he wanted to remain stoic or put on a stern face, it seemed like it would inevitably soften.

"Is your schedule really that open? Maybe you should ask Thiti to rearrange it." Mark joked, noticing that Vee seemed way too relaxed, which was a little annoying. When Mark was around, Vee's weekend schedule was always packed with off-the-record business meetings with important figures. Finding personal time was nearly impossible. But now, with a new secretary, Vee seemed to have way too much free time, almost enviable.

"Actually, I have quite a few appointments, but I asked Thiti to reschedule them all. I wanted to spend a little more time here with you."

Vee's response made Mark's heart race, forcing him to awkwardly look away, not wanting to give the satisfaction to the person who had been troubling his mind.

"I just want to be close to you. You know that I miss you? Not seeing you for less than a week feels like a months, even years. I want to see you, talk to you."

BAM!

Vee's words hit Mark straight in the heart, his usually calm demeanor blushing uncontrollably.

"That's cheesy." Mark said awkwardly, feeling the contrary inside. His heart had softened considerably, but he didn't want to gether highs, knowing that if he was hurt by this, it might be hard to heal?

"Heh, when I'm honest, you say it's cheesy."

"Save your sweet words for your dates. I'm not interested."

"But we're on a date right now."

"Vee, that's not funny."

"Even when I'm serious you don't believe me." Vee joked, gently patting Mark's hand that was resting in his lap but Mark quickly pulled it back.

"Don't be touchy." Mark warned calmly. Mark tried to pull his hand away but ultimately couldn't resist Vee's persistent grip.

"Mark." Vee said softly, his steady voice and firm grip on Mark's hand causing him to inadvertently look up and meet Vee's gaze.

"Yeah?"

"I missed you."

Mark remained silent, just listening, then looked out the window as if admiring the view as Vee watched his peaceful gaze drift by with a gentle gaze, occasionally glancing at the road ahead with a sense of satisfaction.

Vee drove along the beach and took Mark on a route recommended by a famous blogger. He didn't really know much about traveling or food, having never had to hunt down delicious meals before, Mark, the silly man sitting there, used to take care of that, always serving his favorites. But now, Vee enjoyed driving for Mark, unable to explain why he suddenly wanted to please him. Maybe he wanted to see Mark smile at him, even just a little. Look at him...sitting there with a frown ever since Vee mentioned that Mark was attending a small gathering JZ had invited them to.
