A Tale of Two Ends

Chapter 14: Devastation (Part 2)

Monday August 4th was the day I found out that my high school sweetheart was leaving me. Tuesday morning after going to our normal seat and waiting for Terrell, I could not stop thinking about what was going to happen to us. After a couple of moments in my thoughts, he comes and sits next to me.
"Hey bae." I try and say.
"Hey." That was all I got for a while.
Wednsday August 6th
Talk about an unsettling nerve. The pain in my heart knowing that soon he wouldn't even be sitting next to me. The pit in my stomach looking at him with those sadden eyes. It killed me.
*RING*
While walking Terrell to his class, he stops me about halfway and sees me crying. He takes a deep breath and says,
"Bae, you know I'm leaving today right?"
"WHAT?! ALREADY?! No. You can't. Not so soon! I haven't even prepared to say goodbye!" I blurt.
"I know. I don't wanna go man. Dang!" He directs that more towards himself. Towards me he says "I'm leaving in the middle of the day."
"Before or after lunch?"
"Before. My mom said around 11."
"So that means I only get one more time after this to see you..." I sob.

As it turns out, I did see Terrell more than I thought. He was still here after lunch so I figured he was just gonna go ahead and stay the rest of the day. Good! After lunch I get on the bus to drive over to the Career Academy thinking I would get to see him one last time at the bus ramp after school.

We arrive at the school about 2 minutes before the bell rings for dismissal. I go and stand next to our meeting pole.
*RING* Finally! Everyone starts crowding the bus ramp. As I'm trying to break my neck to find Terrell the buses crank up signalling they are about to leave. Fighting tears I look one more time at the doors and realize that Terrell isn't coming...
