Harry and Lyra sat beside each other on the Hogwarts Express. Crookshanks and Andie both lounged on the bench opposite them, no doubt enjoying the space empty space left by Ron and Hermione, who were meeting with the other prefects. The two teens sat with books open before them. In reality, Harry wasn't reading at all. He was too busy admiring Lyra's face in the early afternoon light, the way her grey eyes shone like stars in a clear night sky.

"You haven't flipped a single page in about 20 minutes, Haz. I'm becoming concerned about your reading abilities." She smirked, marking her page and shutting her book.

"Can't help that I'd rather look at something more interesting." He responded quickly.

Lyra giggled, softly resting a hand on his cheek. "And far more beautiful I suppose."

"You couldn't be more right." Harry agreed earnestly.

Lyra leaned in slowly, capturing his lips in hers. His hands drifted to her waist, pulling her closer. The kiss grew less innocent and more hungry. Lyra's hands tangled themselves in Harry's hair. She tugged slightly resulting in a delicious moan.

His hands travelled up her back and ended up resting beneath her jaw, his thumbs caressing her cheeks. Lyra felt drunk. Better than drunk. Kissing Harry was better than any drink or drug she had ever tried.

The two jumped apart as they Ron's loud voice echoed down the aisle. Both still red faces and breathing heavily when he, Hermione, and Draco came through the doorway.

Lyra had a much better poker face than Harry. Her book was already open, and she looked genuinely engrossed in the story. Harry, on the other hand, was still flushed, his hair sticking up at odd angles and his book firmly held on his lap.

"What's going on in here?" Draco asked with a faux casual tone, immediately planting himself between Harry and Lyra.

"Reading." Lyra responded, slamming her book shut. She narrowed her eyes at her brother, practically daring him to say any more.

He clearly thought better of it simply saying, "Sure."

"How are the snakes?" She asked, changing the subject.

"Same as ever."

Lyra took in the exhausted look on Draco's face. "Sooo, horrible?"

"Yup." He replied.

"There's more though, isn't there?" She prompted, her voice taking a more serious tone.

Hermione immediately took her attention away from Crookshanks and Andie, and turned her attention to Lyra and Draco. Harry had righted himself and did the same, while Ron continued munching on a chocolate frog.
