The air in the hidden room was dense, filled with the smell of old paper and the stale, metallic tang of the vault. Lucas stepped inside, his eyes scanning the rows of shelves, each one filled with binders, boxes, and yellowing documents. He could feel the weight of years of secrets pressing in on him, the magnitude of what they had found slowly sinking in.

Amelia followed close behind, her eyes wide as she took in the sight. She moved to one of the shelves, her fingers brushing against the edge of a dusty ledger. Travis hesitated at the threshold, his breath catching in his throat as he stared at the sea of information before them.

- This is it, isn't it? Everything they've been hiding - Travis said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Victor nodded, his eyes narrowing as he stepped further into the room.

- It looks like it. The proof we need to bring them down. But we have to be careful. We don't know what's in these files yet, or how dangerous this information could be - he said.

Elena walked to the center of the room, her eyes locking on a box marked with a faded red symbol. She crouched down, lifting the lid slowly, her gaze sharpening as she sifted through the contents.

- These are financial records, transactions—dates and names. Everything they've done in the shadows, it's all here - she said, her voice filled with awe.

Marcus joined her, his eyes scanning the documents as he pulled out a thick binder. He flipped through the pages, his expression darkening as he read.

- This... this is worse than I thought. These aren't just payoffs. They've been laundering money for years—arms deals, trafficking, all of it. It's all here - he said, his voice filled with disgust.

Lucas looked at Amelia, his eyes meeting hers as he took a deep breath.

- If we can get this out to the right people, it'll destroy them. Everything they've built will come crashing down - he said, his voice filled with conviction.

Amelia nodded, her eyes filled with determination.

- But how do we do that? We can't just walk into a police station with these files. We need to be smart about this—find someone we can trust, someone who won't be afraid to take this on - she said.

Elena looked up from the box, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully.

- I might know someone. There's a journalist—someone I used to work with before I got out. She's been trying to expose them for years, but she never had the proof. If we give her this, she might be able to help us - she said.

Victor glanced at Elena, his expression skeptical.

- A journalist? That's risky. If they catch wind of this, we could be putting her life in danger—and ours - he said.

Elena stood up, her eyes locking on Victor's.

- I trust her. She knows what she's doing, and she's not afraid to take risks. If anyone can get this story out, it's her - she said, her voice filled with conviction.

Lucas stepped forward, his gaze shifting between Elena and Victor.

- We don't have a lot of options. If she can help us, then we need to take that chance. But we need to be careful. We can't let them know we have this information—not until it's too late for them to do anything about it - he said.

Marcus nodded, his jaw set in determination.

- Then we get these files to her. We make sure she understands the risks, and we protect her until this is over. We can't afford to make any mistakes - he said.
