Chapter 18

                               JIN DAY 💜

Deep within the forest, an unconscious omega wolf was bound to a chair. Outside, five heavily armed guards stood watch, vigilant and waiting for their leader's arrival.

"Male omegas are supposed to be smaller and leaner, right?" one guard asked, his tone laced with confusion.

The other guard nodded, his eyes fixed on the cabin. "That's what I've heard. But this one... he looks like he could take down any of us."

"Oh man, what if we've got the wrong guy?" one of the kidnappers asked, his face pale with worry as he imagined the consequences of their mistake.

"Stop questioning it. We have got the right one. His scent is undeniable. It's possible that maybe his wolf form is small."

"That's true. We don't really know much about male omegas, do we? Our knowledge is limited to rumors and legends."

"The male omega might have buffed up on purpose, as a disguise to avoid being identified as an omega right away."

The kidnappers' conversation was abruptly halted by the appearance of a stern, weathered man with a scarred face accompanied by two wolves standing guard at his side.

Namjoon had already called Jackson to help them gather the location of the rogues.

V remained unconscious, lying on the bed, which was encircled by the others.

By the time they reached Tae, V had already taken control of him.

After ensuring V was protectively tucked in, everyone left the room.

The silence in the living room had become unbearable, so Jin took the initiative to break it.

"What were those idiots thinking, mistaking Kook for an omega wolf?" Jin asked, outraged. "Anyone with half a brain could see that his muscular build was anything but omega."

"Can't those stupids even distinguish between human and wolf scents?"

The three humans continued to ask their questions.

Namjoon took it upon himself to clarify things for them.

"When werewolves mark or accept each other, their scents blend together when they're physically close for too long. This effect typically lasts about an hour before their scents return to normal. The same temporary scent mixing can occur between humans and werewolves."

"Oh no, by now Kook's werewolf scent must have faded, and those rogues will have realized their mistake. What if they hurt Kook when they find out the truth?" Jin asked, his voice laced with concern.

"I highly doubt that," Yoongi said with a scoff. "Well, I'm pretty sure that your beloved brother must have latched onto our brother and might have been sniffing him 24/7; the werewolf scent might have also overpowered his own human scent. So, there's no way his werewolf scent would have disappeared; it might even last for 24 hours."

Jin, Hobi, and Jimin breathed a collective sigh of relief, grateful for the first time for Jungkook's overprotective clinginess towards Tae.

Hobi's brow furrowed in confusion. 'Tae was right there with Kook when they took Kook. Tae's werewolf scent might be hidden beneath his human scent, but it's still there. I don't understand why the kidnappers didn't get confused between the two."

Kai spoke up, "We bought scent blockers for Taetae the last time we were here; it will help conceal his scent when he's out in public."

Jimin's face lit up with understanding.
"I get it! When Tae was kidnapped, his scent blockers must have been working, making him smell only like a human."

Jimin's concern deepened. "What if they're still in Busan? Are we wasting our time searching the forest?"

Namjoon shook his head. "After pulling off something like this, they wouldn't risk staying in the human world. They must be hiding in the forest."

It wasn't long before Jackson called.

To ensure V's safety, Jimin, Hobi, and Kai stayed behind with him, while Namjoon, Jin, and Yoongi went in search of Jungkook, armed with knives and whatever other weapons they could gather at that moment.

The cabin where Jungkook was being held was conveniently located at the border of the human world and the forest, allowing them to reach it in a mere 15 minutes.

But when they reached the cabin, the silence was deafening. The scene was eerily calm, with no indication that someone was being held captive. Not even one guard was stationed outside, armed, just as they had expected.

So, without taking any weapons, they approached the cabin. However, Namjoon and Yoongi's sensitive noses picked up the scent of other wolves, putting them on high alert. Positioning Jin behind them, they slowly and carefully opened the creaky door.

A look of bewilderment crossed Jin's face as he gazed at Namjoon and Yoongi, their eyes wide open and unblinking, as if they had stumbled upon something horrific.

Jin pushed past Namjoon and Yoongi, only to halt abruptly; his eyes wide with the same horror that had frozen the other two in place.

The gruesome scene unfolded before their eyes: eight werewolves lay on the ground, their bodies drenched in blood, their limbs twisted in unnatural positions. Towering over them was a majestic black wolf, its eyes blazing with an ominous, dark-red glow as it locked gazes with the three newcomers.

It was as if the wolf had sensed Jin, and in the blink of an eye, Jin fell to the ground with the big black wolf towering over him. Now, Jin's voice was frozen in his throat; his eyes frantically darted back and forth between the massive wolf and the two other werewolves.

Namjoon and Yoongi were still struggling to wrap their minds around the surreal scene unfolding before them.

The infamous True Blood Alpha, a monster of myth and legend, was now wiggling its tail and gazing up at Jin with adorable, puppy-like eyes, snuggling up against him like a contented cub.
