Chapter 22

The house where Grandma Jeon is currently staying was built by Seong-min and is located near the forest. The location was convenient for both Mr. and Mrs. Jeon to bring Eun here, where she could safely transform into a wolf. They learned from Dong-hyun that werewolves need to shift into wolf form to strengthen the bond between their human and wolf selves.

The couple has kept her true nature a secret, even from their own son Min-jun. They're afraid that sharing the secret with anyone else could put Eun's life in danger.

Years later, when Eun turned 18, her parents began receiving numerous marriage proposals for her. Although it was common for girls to marry young in the past, Eun's parents decided to reject all the proposals and instead supported her in pursuing her passion for fashion designing.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeon had previously decided not to hide her true identity from her. When she turned 10, they sat her down and explained everything that had happened since they adopted her.

After Eun established a successful career as a fashion designer, her parents started thinking about her marriage. They were concerned that if an outsider were to discover Eun's true nature as a werewolf, they might take advantage of her.

To avoid this risk, Mr. Jeon decided to arrange her marriage to their own son, Min-jun. Min-jun had been studying abroad since he was 18 and had recently returned home.

When his parents approached him with the proposal, he agreed without hesitation. Eun also accepted the arrangement, relieved that she wouldn't have to leave her parents after marriage.

Their worst mistake was trusting Min-jun with Eun's well-being. When Eun became pregnant with her first child, Jin, she decided to reveal her secret to Min-jun if Jin turned out to be a werewolf. Fortunately, Jin was born human.

Meanwhile, Min-jun's true nature began to surface a year later. He started mentally abusing Eun, taking advantage of her reluctance to defend herself for fear of harming Jin and the couple who raised her. Despite being physically stronger, Eun endured the abuse.

Eun's situation took a turn for the worse when she reluctantly slept with Min-jun while in heat, becoming pregnant with Jungkook.

At five months pregnant, Eun discovered Min-jun's infidelity with multiple women, one of whom was also four months pregnant.

Making the situation even more devastating, for werewolves, infidelity is a fatal betrayal.

If one partner cheats, the other's life is at risk. The pain of betrayal is so profound that it can shatter the heart, ultimately leading to death.

When Jungkook was born, he turned out to be a werewolf. Mr. and Mrs. Jeon told Eun maybe it was time to tell the truth to Min-jun. But Eun stopped them, saying it wasn't the time.

Eun came to realize that her time was limited. She finally revealed everything to Mrs. Jeon and asked her to take her to the wizard Dong-hyun. Mrs. Jeon, feeling guilty and heartbroken, guided Eun to meet the wizard.

Eun explained her wishes, and the wizard gave them a pendant for Jungkook to wear.

The pendant would prevent Jungkook's werewolf transformation, protecting him from exploitation-including by his own father, who might seek power from Jungkook.

The wizard revealed that the mythical wolf within Jungkook had a fated mate. As Jungkook grew closer to meeting his mate, his werewolf traits would gradually emerge.

However, Eun and Grandma Jeon had concerns about Jungkook finding his mate, given that he lived in the human world, while other werewolves resided in the forest.

But the wizard reassured them, stating that fate would bring Jungkook and his mate together, and that his mate would be the one to find him in the human world.

When Jungkook turned three, Eun's health had severely deteriorated, and she eventually passed away. To spare another person the burden of guilt, Eun had never allowed Mrs. Jeon to reveal the truth to Mr. Jeon.

However, after Eun's death, Mrs. Jeon couldn't bear the secret any longer and confessed everything to Mr. Jeon. The weight of learning that his own decision had made Eun's life a living hell proved too much for him, and he suffered a heart attack, ultimately leading to his demise.

And Min-jun soon married the woman he had impregnated.
