Jung-eun, a werewolf who was adopted by the Jeon couple after her biological father's tragic death. To protect her, Mr. and Mrs. Jeon kept her true nature a secret and arranged her marriage to their biological son, Min-jun. However, Min-jun's abusive nature and infidelity put Jung-eun's life at risk due to the fatal consequences of betrayal in werewolf relationships. Before passing away, Eun sought help from a wizard, Ryu Dong-hyun, to protect her son Jungkook, who is also a werewolf, by having him given a pendant to prevent his transformations. The wizard also revealed that Jungkook has a fated mate who will find him in the human world. After Eun's death, Min-jun married one of the mistresses who was pregnant with his child.

Min-jun married Hana, not out of love for her or because she was pregnant with his child. He didn't want to be tied down in marriage again; he had multiple affairs, so why limit himself to one person?

But Hana blackmailed him with private photos, threatening to expose his infidelity and abuse of his previous wife to the media if he didn't marry her and acknowledge the child.

To protect his reputation and business image, Min-jun reluctantly agreed and married Hana, accepting the child as his son.

No one was more stunned than Jin when he uncovered the truth about his parents' past.

Growing up, Jin noticed the unusual age gap between his younger brother and his half-brother, which prompted him to confront his father.

His father seemed taken aback but explained that his marriage to Eun was a practical arrangement, with an open agreement to divorce if either fell in love.

According to him, he fell for Hana, who became pregnant, but due to a drunken mistake with Eun, she also ended up pregnant around the same time. They had planned to wait until Jungkook turned four before divorcing, fearing Mr. Jeon's reaction. However, Eun's illness cut their plans short, taking her life before Jungkook's fourth birthday.

Jin believed his father's story, oblivious to the deception. As a result, Jin never held Hana's outsider status against her, but neither he nor Jungkook fully accepted her as a mother.

Namjoon nudged Jin, who was still lost in thought, reliving memories of the past.

Jin shared what his father had told him. Grandma was furious with her son.

"Grandma," Hobi spoke up, "how do you feel about that woman's behavior?"

Grandma replied, "I never liked her. She's fake and pretentious and only cares about her own son and her wealth."

Jin added, "She wasn't exactly loving, but she didn't fit the typical evil stepmother stereotype. She'd do anything for her son, though, and puts on a show for others, behaving like we're one big happy family when we're really not."

Kai muttered, "They're just different flavors of bad."
