Novacane, numb the pain. Novacane, for the pain. I can't feel a thing.

Connie Parian

Ever since summer ended I really thought that with Johnny working and me going back to school. It works, but he just act like he never wants to be at my house. Then I had to tell him I was a virgin and wanted to stay that way for the time being ,which was another argument. Though with all our fights and silly disputes we are somehow still together . Tonight would be our anniversary and we had nothing special planned which for me was a real bummer but Johnny didn't seem to care. Little things like that irk my nerves, I let it go though. He is just going to come over and we hang out for a little while. Maybe , if he doesn't stand me up like usual. I had to break up with him several times, but he always seem to be persistent in getting me back. Sitting on the bed looking at pictures from the Carnival sitting against the mirror I smiled. I was snapped out of my thoughts by a knock on the door.

"Come in."

"Hey Con, your friends Anna and Duncan are here." My mother said peeking her head in the door.

"Okay Mom, send them up."

"Thanks Mrs. Parian." Anna said walking through the door.

"Oh call me Callie, I'm not that old." She laughed walking away.

"Aye , you know I just learned that Rich's name isn't Richard." Duncan said taking a seat on the love seat.

"Haha, and your suppose to be his friend." Anna laughed.

"Yeah it's Callie, Connie,Richie, and Michael but they call him Michie so he fits in."

"But dud how old is your mom. She looks like she's still in her twenties." Anna

"She's thirty eight. She just has a young face, something worth inheriting."

"How old is your dad did then." Duncan asked.

"Fifty next month."

"Damn he was close to being a perve bruh." Duncan said laughing.

"Shut up... what can I say we like older men."

"We see." They said in unison.

"Anyways what's are you two low classes doing here?"

"If you should know we came because we know you and Johnny aren't doing shit for your anniversary, but we love you so we're taking you out." Duncan said getting up.

"Thanks you guys but I'm fine honestly."

"Did I ask for any back talk? No so get your phone and purse and get your ass down stairs in that car." Anna said.

"Haha, alright alright." I grabbed my things and we left out. Getting in the car I already knew where we were going. Milo's bar and grill. I don't understand what it is with Anna and Bar and grills but she loves them all. Going in we had so much fun karaoke, endless wings, and laughter. Sitting down to take a break I got a text. It was Johnny telling he was going to be a few minutes late. I said Okay knowing I was too, haha. I had to wash the smell of beer and hot wings off of me. I told Anna and Duncan and we payed for our food and left. Walking out there was a roar of laughter coming out of the Pizza shop next door. I turned to see what was so funny and I found nothing amusing .

"Oh Johnny ." The little bitch said feeling all over him.

"Baby girl you know it's the same thing over and over." He laughed grabbing her waist.

I ran to the car, I was so close to crying but I wasn't going to let that bastard have the advantage of seeing me shed not one tear. I sent Johnny a text letting him know that I didn't want him to come over ever again and turned my phone off. Sitting in the car with my arms folded, Anna and Duncan soon came and got in.

"I'm sorry you had to see that." Anna said

"I'm okay, I'm just want to go home."

"I understand. Lets go baby."

The drive home was like a deep aching , my mind was going crazy. When we got to the house I told them goodbye and went inside. Walking up the stairs into my room, I saw a dark figure.Frightened, I stood in the threshold and turned the light on. Johnny was sitting in a chair.

"What the hell are you doing here ?" I said throwing my shoes across the room.

"I came to see what's going on."

"Well you shouldn't have. I don't feel like being bothered with you."

"What did you see or think you saw?"

"I don't think I saw shit . I know what I saw and you got to get your grip and go." I opened the door.

"I'm not leaving and you know this." He came towards.

"You need to leave . Go be with that thing you were with tonight that was going to make you be late. " I said moving from him.

"She was just a friend and I wasn't the only one out was I. "

"Because today was our anniversary and you weren't doing shit. My friends were the only one's who seemed to care."

"Okay so we're even."

I glared at him, I was so angry. I wanted to pull his fucking eyeballs out."Yeah we are even so get the fuck out of my house and don't come back."

"She is just a friend I don't understand why you get like this." He grabbed me and tried to kiss me.

"Yeah, I always sexually touch my friends in public area when I'm in a relationship. Your right she's a friend,so maybe I'll find a couple of new friends, since we're going to be so Damn friendly now." He looked at me then slammed me against the wall.

"I'm getting tired of your attitude."

"And I'm getting tired of believing your lies."

We didn't say anything else just looked at each other, my back was killing me from when he slammed me but I didn't show it one bit on my face.

"I'm sorry okay, I was just hanging with Jason and some of his friends the girl was frisky and wouldn't take a hint. Nothing happen just a little harmless flirting. " he said letting me go. I moved away from him and found my shirt I sleep in. I undressed and threw the shirt over my head not having anymore energy to argue.

"Okay Johnny, I believe you ." I got in the bed and turned on the t.v.

"I'm glad you stopped acted crazy and finally came to your senses." He cut the light off taking his shirt and shoes off getting in the bed. I rolled my eyes as he placed his arm around me.

I don't how much longer I would be able to believe the lies.
